Drake Maye has arrived . . .

As much as the deep throws and accuracy has been impressive, what has impressed me the most is the is his "presence" or calm he has in the pocket to go through his reads. It is really striking for someone so young and inexperienced. 40yd completion or 5 yd drop, his "presence" remains the same. "On to the next play", and let's get them. I love that about his game.

The other thing I think is impressive is how fast he seems to have mastered the offense. As that clip showed. He and Josh (and Boutte) were all seeing the same thing on Boutte's TD. And just like Brady, each week it seems to be a different guy. I think Josh's offense works best when there isn't a true #1 who "needed" the ball. I believe he thinks that when a defense doesn't have "that" guy to focus on, it is harder to defend the whole field.

We know we have to focus on Robinson, London, and Pitts. I think it makes creating a game plan easier. I think that's one of the things that is making Mahomes so productive lately is that you can't focus on just one guy. Also, the mind meld he has with Kelce. He has something like a 40 yd completion on an ad lib play that Kelce was supposed to be blocking on. That's the kind of thing we have to look forward to in the future.

Good time to be a Pats fan. This is a team that is easy to root for. They are playing the game the right way, and they are playing it TOGETHER.

In high school

Thanks. Great clip. He has a nice shot. I would’ve loved to go against him in high school. I was 6’4” in high school, shot blocking and rebounding were my game. I think I could’ve gotten some of his shots. Or at least not left him so wide open to take them unopposed. But must admit he had some sweet moves. And a really nice touch.

The part where is he asked about going up and down the sideline chatting up the players
He more or less said Coach Vrabel stresses that to me
He has two good coaches in Vrabel and McD
This kid is going to make some noise

BTW, another sign Maye has arrived . . . noted Patriots hater Scott Kacsmar (formerly of Football Outsiders, who got fired b/c Boston fans found he was just a straight up racist) is having a meltdown on Xitter today about Drake Maye.
He can’t hate on Brady anymore so now it’s Maye’s turn lol

So losing games last year means he’s not MVP this year? Huh. Who knew?

Ol' irrelevant fell-off Kascmar needed to add a few more qualifiers on that.

Just search Drake Maye and the content is off the charts. After this initial shock wears off, the rest of the leagues fanbases will have heart attacks realizing that the Pats have a superstar QB. Again.

If this team continues playing at this level, let alone improves, they’ll be making so much noise in the playoffs the rest of the NFL won’t be able to ignore it.

Its hard to ignore any team that has performed solid or better in all areas. While we have a few positional weaknesses, we are still doing well in all 3 phases. The defense really hasn’t allowed more than 20 ppg , in miami it was a punt return that got their score to 27. I think that is the key here, if we can keep holding teams to 20 ish points or less we’ll be a serious problem.

26 passes? hahahahaha... why not just round it off to a nice even number? Oops, he can't.

These days with AI, it's so easy to cherry-pick data to show you how much of a loser X is, or even Brady is, or Mahomes. All I need to do is pile up their losses and find anything remotely relevant, like Brady is oh-for-whatever anytime he gets sacked more than 3.5 times a game or fails to pick up at least three first downs in the third quarter of fall games.

This guy is a longtime Brady hater and deflategate truther and now that his takes on all that look ridiculous he’s now hating on Maye to troll Pats fans. We must be in his head rent free. Lol

Everyone knows 26 is the magic number of passes to throw that makes your stats count for real or something

Stats that consist of “Drake Maye has never won the games he lost.”

Every young QB will have plenty of “nevers.” There just aren’t enough games yet to check every box. I even got into an argument here after Mahomes’ 2nd year with a poster who insisted that Mahomes wasn’t a franchise QB because of his list of “nevers.”

I don't know if people noticed in Patriots All Access, but Maye was asked when he started throwing deep balls. "Middle school, I think they call it now." Before high school! Might explain why it looks so easy for him.

Moreover, he's so far spent the majority of his career with a team so bad that mediots were basically calling them uniquely unsuited to draft a top-tier QB.

I think itd be cool if Maye is able to win the MVP in his 1st year having a solid team around him.

Taylor is having a very productive season as well and is deserving.

I chuckle a little though on some of the comps Ive seen. One short I watched asked which was more impressive, with clips of a Taylor run vs a Maye throw. The run was basically Taylor running through the biggest gap youve ever seen and accelerating up the sideline. The Maye throw was the Boutte TD in the Cleveland game.

No disrespect, but if Taylor is getting running lanes like that consistently, then you might want to award the MVP to Indys O line.

The 26 passes stat is pretty funny. I mean, if you're getting approximately 10 yards an attempt, you probably won't NEED to throw it 40 times.

Players play. Critics criticize.
