I don't think Ewers is anywhere close to Bo Nix. He's betting on himself, so good for him. I felt he was the weak link in Texas this year. They had a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. Maybe I am all wet on this, but that's where I am at. I really want him to do well. That's not saying he can't succeed, but I think his ceiling is low. He might be a marginal starter type, but I really think he's an NFL back up.

100% would love to be wrong on him.
Zappe was a 4th rounder, so Ewers has to be R3 guy or earlier. I assume 2nd half of the first round or earlier. We have this discussion about QBs every year and the QBs come off the board really early every year.

We were very lucky to get Maye at 3 and I think Vrabel is ideal for Maye because Maye needs to learn discipline and situational football.

I think Ewers has an advantage over Zappe having played at Texas, in higher pressure environments, against better competition. I really hope he's better than Zappe, but that's probably a good comparison. Reports are that he passed on $8m to stay in the NCAA. That's a lot. He could easily be Jake Fromm or Kyle Trask, too.

To your point, I think he's a day 2 pick. So is he Spencer Rattler? Maybe? I think if he absolutely dominates the upcoming pre-draft events, he could be a riser.

I agree and would like to see Graham and Barmore inside with White over the opposing RT (and a fast guy over the LT - Uche?). White is strong and fast enough to help contain QBs from rolling to their right and extending plays. A fast guy, even Uche, to run around the left side again forces the QB into the pocket or run and throw to the left (much harder to do). Sounds great to me. I am not sure why anyone would not want this. Of course White can also rotate inside with Jennings on the RT protecting the edge.
I'd be tempted to draft Princley or Kennard in the 2nd or re-sign Jennings and add a dedicated pass rusher like Bradyn Swinson in the 3rd/4th. I've not seen enough of Uche to pass judgement but he is quite small and hasn't been that productive aside from one season.

Kennard is my binkie. It seems his stocks has dropped a bit at the end of the season. However I like his motor and relentless. Love to see him as a Pat.

You Uche got released right?

Uche will be cheap. Really cheap. And he is fast if used correctly like in his one season like you note. Strictly a speed pass rusher. I only mentioned him because he is familiar and cheap. Can't have All Pros everywhere.

That's fine and I wouldn't turn my nose up at bringing him back but I'm a draft guy so I tend to look there for solutions.

Agreed but we need so many holes to fill and have so much cap space, we need to add players in FA and the draft. Picking and choosing is tough. Hopefully we are burning cash this year. After FA the draft might look differently if we burned cash.

The LT class is not a great class, would not waste the #4 overall on a LT. I’d get WR Tet McMillan, he’s a game changer. It’ll be interesting to see what he does at the combine, will he run a sub 4.6 or a sub 4.5 ? If he runs in the 4.4’s, how do you pass up a 6’5” 220 pound WR who catches everything and runs in the 4.4’s ? This team needs EXPLOSIVE weapons for Drake.

Now of course, if Hunter somehow drops to #4, you run to the podium.

Will not be angry if they draft a LT, just think #4 is just too high for this LT class.

I would rather see them trade down, pick up a good second rd. pick, and take Tyler Warren.

What's wrong with

White - Graham - Barmore - Pass rusher to be named later

on passing downs? Or do you propose moving White inside and signing/drafting two pass rushers. If so, then I tend to agree but think option 1 works too. But I was watching a video about Shane Bowen's defense at Tennessee and option 1 was how he rolled when Vrabel was there. A bigger Le, two penetrating DTs and a pure pass rusher.

You might be right. I'm just parroting what I heard. I highly recommend their Catch 22 podcast.

I miss Mayoclinic but he he left years before even I did. Reamer was another good one who appears to have left (even though he was a big fan of N'keal Harry .

I'm around! I changed my username since too many people thought it was innuendo. I just don't post much these days or go in-depth with my scouting reports. Kids keep me busy.

And I wanted to trade up for Metcalf that draft (I was shocked he fell). McLaurin was my favorite receiver in that class. I liked Harry as a big slot and X who could add physicality to our team. He clearly didn't have what it took mentally. Too bad!

I didn't realise you were he, it's great to know you're still here. I used to really enjoy our interactions. And I was joking about the Harry thing. BB really screwed up on Mclaurin - we were both big fans.

I still remember how badly you wanted Connor Barwin.

Went back to a Draft projection last year and saw where Polk and Wallace were ranked. They were Both Terrible REACHES... they were Fourth Rounders at best. One Projection rated Javon Baker higher than both... Wolf can't have the last word on anything going forward.

I hold out hope for him, some rookie mistakes yes, but some of the later drafts are showing promise. Vrabel must see something in him.

For what it is worth, I just heard Breer say some teams only have two Blue Chip top-5 or even top-10 talents in this draft....hint WR and OT arent those positions. If we have a chance to take Hunter or Carter you just have to take them......if they are both gone you just have to go with your board and hope you are right, because you aren't getting the normal talent at 4 you normally would.
