Dotson to eagles. Wake up Wolfe

There's a reason why Bill would drag out signing players during his 20+ years of being the HC/GM of the Pats. If he threw around cash prizes like Oprah does to many of the players, they aren't sniffing 6 rings.

Barmore had one good year. Why would you pay him before seeing him duplicate it again? I'd rather pay more for a sure thing, than a significant amount for an unknown. And I was very critical when he was extended.
If he did it again it would cost more, stuff happens you can't see into the future.

I already mentioned it would cost more. I'd rather pay more for a sure thing than a one hit wonder.
So don't sign anyone and start all over with draft picks?
The only player that was must on the list was Owenu because they were so bad on the O-line and his loss would've created an even bigger hole.

Everyone else could've walked and you'd never notice them gone. There was a reason why Bill let so many players walk he drafted.

Again this is a 4 win team with no Pro Bowlers or All Pro's on either offense or defense. When the team starts 0-6 or 1-5 at best out of the gate, these off-season moves will be brought up.

Signing the same players that contributed to a 4 win team is not trying to win.
So…you are complaining about the team not trying to win while telling us it was a mistake to resign any of the good players, any of the foundation for a rebuild? Are you reading what you are posting?

This isn’t the NBA where you just suck as much as possible and one or two players will turn it around. The Patriots don’t have many pieces to the puzzle but they have a few and we’ll need them.

The path forward in terms of players is fairly clear. Make sure the defense remains a steady group and put full priority in the offseason to LT and WR (if we still don’t have a #1). Don’t create needs if it can be avoided.

Sleepy Elliott dozes while other teams try to get better

Eagles are stacked at every position and they still try to get better

Howie loves big name players
Meanwhile Sleepy Elliot signs Kobie Jones and Matt Landers

Now that’s some clever **** right there. Great job Sam. “ Sleepy” Wolf, lmao. Whew! Good stuff.

For the rookie posters in this forum, watch this guy’s stuff. This is the kind of content we really need.

Sam, you really don’t need to use multiple usernames. We get that you are unfailingly miserable. I’m sure it brightens your day to try and make everyone else as miserable as you are, but we really don’t need it every day, week after week, month after month……….Maybe you could take up pickleball?

@TheRainMaker is a great poster with thoughtful takes. Not similar to miserable Sam. We don't always have to agree and should be mature enough to consider the positive and negative in various situations.

Lousy take here trying to criticize.

There are two kinds of posters here.

Group one are those who see it as a community where we are trying to have a thoughtful, intelligent conversation and all have responsibility for our contributions in that regard.

Group two are those who use it as traditional social media emotional dumping ground, and a place to get noticed through provocation and negativity. There's no sense of community responsibility.

Group three are those who don't believe that there are two kinds of posters here.

I must be missing his great takes, what I keep seeing is him saying over and over how much Mayo sucks, when he has never coached so much as 1 game, and how they are going 0-4, 1-6, and everyone is getting fired. He could be right, but to date there is nothing to base that on.

The issue isn’t that they resigned their own players. It’s that they did almost nothing else and just chose to source less on players than all of the other teams.
The way to win in the NFL is to put together the best players you can get your hands on. Holes are created by attrition, decline and injury. A 4 win team that doesn’t improve is less than a 4 win team. We already are without our 2 best defensive players and don’t upgrade any of the other 9 spots on that side of the ball.
If we had acquired an extra first and second rounder and drafted a LT and WR we might be back to the 4 win team we ended last season at. There is massive improvement required across the roster, not 2 players. And the reason is because we sat on 50,000,000 we could have spent on players

First, you should never judge someone based on what is said on an anonymous message board. I welcome all posters who are respectable and enjoy having a discussion. You could've simply responded to my posts and suggest why I should see it differently. But the personal attacks are completely unnecessary.

I don't mind anyone that disagrees with what I have to say. In fact, I encourage it because the board would be boring if we all agreed on everything. However, the problem I continually see is that there's a few posters that get personal because they read something that upsets them. You do have a really cool option with posts you don't like: you can use with your mouse and scroll past it.

You are a great poster. I enjoy reading what you write. No reason to get frustrated with takes you disagree with and crticize a poster.

At RB rather than getting a 3rd down back who was phased out in Washington since we had a bonanza of cash why not go after a guy like Pollard and have 2 RB1s to share the load and be a run heavy team to support a rookie QB? Sure it’s an outside the box idea, but if you can’t figure out his to use the 50 million you have to improve the team (which people claim was true, and of course I disagree) wouldn’t you do whatever you can?
Been wondering about this myself. With AVP, we are supposed to be run heavy so we definitely should have done this unless they’re totally fine with our RBs…

There are just so many ways to improve a football team, it’s shocking to me that they felt not spending the allotted cap was the way to do it. It makes no sense to me, which leads me to believe they were told they couldn’t.

Thanks, the feeling is mutual, and I do get frustrated with people who are constantly negative. I don’t think everyone should be homer’s and predict playoffs with a team that isn’t ready for that, but I think the new regime at least deserves a couple of years to turn this around. So yeah, I do get testy when I think they aren’t t being given the opportunity to show what they can do. Wolf and Mayo inherited one of the worst situations in football, and turning a franchise in that shape around takes time

The problem for them is that you can’t stay run heavy once you are down a couple of scores.
But having strong running game can help you not get down a couple of scores, as well as improving the defensive roster.

I think you are being a bit negative .

The Pats defense is not one of the worst situations in football, the Pats salary cap position is not one of the worst positions in football, and the Pats draft position was exciting. The Pats could have signed young defensive FAs to bolter their defense like a corner opposite Gonzo, an OLB, a DT, or a FS. That would have made our defense one of the better situations in football without compromising the 2025 cap space.

So not a great situation but situations like Pete Carroll walked into are not necessarily ideal either. If I was Mayo and Wolf I would prefer this situation (which you call one of the worst) over the one Pete walked into.
