Don't worry: BB has a lot of respect for this team

While BB is a master of informational discipline along with usually subtle but definitely deliberate informational warfare, I got the sense this was one of those uncommon and excellent times when BB just opens up about his football thoughts (granted I could be wrong about this). And whether one agrees with the degree to which the defense is potent (top flight or closer to middling) I think most everyone will agree this team is mentally tough and seems to be very VERY enthusiastically on the same page.

I and everyone else here should dread the day BB retires from HCing the Patriots (while the rest of the AFC will do cartwheels). However, the silver lining will be the greater chances at more of these 'open up about football' moments. The giant vault of information/stories BB could, and presumably will to some degree, share is a major win for all Football-philes.

He obviously can show a great deal of respect to the people he feels they deserve it..
Also they are the same generation +-, sharing the same part of NFL (hi)story.

And yet, the enemedia will continue to promulgate, enabled by their sources throughout the league, that it is Bill Belichick & Tom Brady who disrespect their
opponents, when nothing of course could be further from the truth. In fact, it is partly due to the tremendous respect that they have for the opposing HC & QB
that they have had success up until now, and beyond I hope.
The enemedia is missing a great story here, but they are refusing to acknowledge that it even exists.

The Globe just had a nice story on Louis Riddick and how much BB still affects him. As some of you know, Riddick was a db under BB(and nick Saban), for several years with the Browns.

Fast forward to today: Riddick has also been an NFL scout and executive, in addition to being one of the absolute best NFL analysts on the planet. I've always gotten a kick out of how he speaks about BB with reverential awe, unlike some of the other clowns at ESPN.

But some reporter just mentioned to BB all his former players that have had success in broadcasting, the reporter naming bruschi, Rodney, willie mcg, even zolak: the FIRST words out of BBs mouth were," you know Louis Riddick played for me in Cleveland".

Riddick was downright giddy- sounded like a little kid on xmas- that BB mentioned him FIRST.

I know there are other stories like me this out there. BB has had a positive impact on a LOT of people.
