Kansas City coach **** Vermeil still can't believe he let Donnie Edwards go in 2002. Edwards has become the leader of a Chargers defense that should be better in the second year of coordinator Wade Phillips' 3-4 defense.
I didn't realize the Chargers were playing a 3-4 now. I'd definitely give as much as a 3rd for him; obviously (and as always) it would be contingent on him passing a physical, which would address any concerns about his back.

Given his weight he might be best used in passing situations. Bruschi and Seau on running downs, Edwards and a nickleback (Gay or whoever the 3rd corner is now) on passing downs would keep the old guys fresher. But he would certainly give the LB corps more quality depth and flexibility.
