Dolphins sign Isaiah Wynn

Sacre Bleu, nooo way... Surely it's a one year 15 m dollar contract... after all he set his price early, no?

/s in case anyone doesn't get it
More likely (or should be) a misplaced decimal which would put the new deal at $1.5m… At least he has a year to show that his pinky toe is all better…..

Stating the obvious and already mentioned…Tua is a dead man walking if Wynn is blocking for him.

Too bad he didn’t live up to the pick, he looked like a good pick at the time.
good point... there was a time in his second year he really looked like he could become a long term player... then he basically just **** bricks... his last two years here he was just a drive killing penalty machine...

Dante strongly defended this player in his Phil Perry interview. People forget this was a Dante-vetted player, a first-rounder from SEC country.

Dante claims its injuries that have derailed Wynn’s career. Some of us include lack of effort.

I grew to dislike the player, but I have to admit that a healthy Wynn at LT was a good player, esp in pass pro. He has freakishly long arms for his unacceptable short stature and has excellent hand placement. Technically, he can be very good.

But the move to RT was a disaster. He also played decently in his brief appearances spelling Strange at LG, which many of us were advocating.

Not really:

Bill should've insisted that NO accept our 2018 1st for Cookie instead of our 2017 1st; by doing so he would been in position to draft Wisconsin's Ryan Ramczyk at #32... Exactly as the Saints did...

Yep, big disappointment. Rare first round miss.

If they keep him at tackle, I’d love to see Judon lined up across from him on a few key plays, or have Barmore’s nasty demeanor Target him all game long and just abuse him.

Last two are still works in progress that can go either way. But “rare” first round miss? I don’t know, over a decade, a first round hit seems more rare than a miss

They might not even have to. He’s missed 50% of his career to injury. Would anyone even be surprised if he didn’t play?!
Sure, but when you miss the entire first year because of a freak Achilles pop, and only play five years, that inflate the number (also adding the weird COVID year, where lots of guys were IR'd, and the last few games meant nothing for the Pats).

Not defending Wynn here. I was high on him coming in, mostly because of some of our best draftniks, but it didn't work out. Last year was the final nail - and I still think that swapping Wynn and Brown was about as nasty (likely cost Wynn a chance at millions in his next contract) and dumb as anything I've ever seen. Neither one looked like he wanted to be on the field.

This might turn out to be a very good move for Miami. When healthy and engaged, Wynn is a legitimate LT (or LG). Players turn it around sometimes.

Malcom Brown wasn't a miss. He played 60 games (started 51) and over 2100 snaps on a team that lost an AFCCG, lost a Superbowl, and won 2 Superbowls in 4 years. I don't know what you expect from a 32nd pick coming onto a veteran, deep, Superbowl-winning (hence the 32nd pick) football team.

Sony Michel wasn't a miss. He was taken with full knowledge that he'd probably have a short career. He was instrumental in the SB win his rookie year with a record-breaking rookie playoff performance. He was also the only back coming out that BB trusted (I believe) to fill an immediate hole, since he was a skilled blocker and good on the blitz - protecting an aging goat. He got more than 1800 yards rushing his first 2 years with the Pats, and the third year, when he got hurt and Pats fans fell in love with Damian Harris (who is now, apparently, dog poop), Michel averaged 5.7 YPC to Harris's 5.0.

Mac Jones isn't a miss. First off, the pick would have been made by anyone in the football world - huge need, a guy some thought going 3rd falling your lap at 15. He certainly didn't look like a miss after year one, and counting last year against him is truly unfair.

Cole Strange isn't decided yet, but I strongly doubt he's a miss. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go out to LT, but either way, you can't call an IOL a "miss" after 1 season (particularly with THAT coaching).

Seriously, I don't know what people expect from players taken at the end of the 1st round, but those that expect superstars really don't look at reams and reams of data. Sure, you hear about the ones who make it, but the many more who don't slip your mind.

As for the others, Easley was a shot in the dark. He could have been great or he could have blown up. Everyone saw that in the draft. Bad knees but with a first step to make Aaron Donald nod approvingly. He blew up. He was drafted on a team that had no needs and where almost no rookie was going to come in for those last Brady runs. (I wanted Stephan Tuitt, by the way.) They took a shot.

Wynn - injuries happen. It's really that simple. The Achilles was a freak injury.

Harry...I got nothing. Caserio's middle finger to the Pats org? I still can't make heads or tails of why they picked Harry.

Most times they don't. That's why it took this long for a team to sign him. I'm sure his "It's going to take at least $5 mil for people to even talk to me" Tweet didn't help.

That's pretty dishonest even with the caveat that they're a work in progress to put Mac and Strange on a list of busts.

They don't with the Super Bowl without Sony so he's not a bust either.
