Does Darryl Richard make the team ?

Richard has no chance of making this team unless there is catastrophic injuries on the DL. I am sure BB is fiekding calls from the 16 teams that had scouts watching the game. Richard will be traded for a draft pick (not just a conditional pick either).

His sacks were really caused by other players though. Its not like he bullrushed his guy threw him aside and nailed the Qb before he could find a reciever.
He's a fringe NFL player, I think every team in the league has a Darryl Richard they may or may not keep, and I don't think anyone is willing to give up a draft pick to have ours if he doesn't make the cut. Same could be said about many of our young DL.

I agree with that assessment. On one play Richard forced his way through two players to make the sack. That was pressure by Anderson comig off the edge, forcing the QB to step up into Richard. However, our backups are better than most NFL teams backups, so I think this trade is a very real possibility.

I was so impressed by how well our rookies and UDFA played with just 15 days of practice. Our backups beat the JAX starters and that is very impressive. Looking forward to Thursday's game against a quality team like Tampa Bay.

No doubt it was impressive, IMO, mostly because we didnt just do a few things great, we pretty much outplayed them at every level.

Fwiw, here's my really early prediction on front 7: DT - Haynesworth, Wilfork, Ellis, Love, Pryor, Wright (6). Richard and/or Weston to PS.

DE - Cunningham, Moore, A.Carter, Ninkovich, Anderson (5). M.Carter and/or Nurse to PS.

LB - Mayo, Spikes, Fletcher, Guyton, Koutouvides (5) Tarpinian to PS or IR if leg injury too serious.

Why do people keep mentioning Weston? Is it because Reiss talked him up or has he actually done something? Because if he has, I have not noticed.

I'd take Cohen over Weston on the PS.
