Last season Brian Daboll was OC for the Cleveland Browns who gave the Patriots a beatdown and their only real butt whooping of the season.

I would think that the Browns were about the same level of talent at that time as the Dolphins have this year and now that the Dolphins have Daboll could we see a similar gameplan from thier offense?

Daboll's gameplan could play a factor one way or another on a new Patriots D which should be better against the run on a front seven that was gashed and tossed aside like a rag doll when Hillis ran wild.

Should be interesting.

If Hillis went to Miami...he would destroy us..but luckily they got reggie bush..so were fine

Actually, they have a big rookie RB 6-0 230 2nd round pick (Daniel Thomas). He wasn't used a huge amount in preseason but Soprano comes from Parcells and he may have been hiding how they'll use him.

Miami may very well try to run the down our throats:
1) Henne isn't throwing and when he does he can use play action.
2) Brady is on the field less often.

Associated with a tough defense, we'd have a tough time.

Of course, having a strategy and executing it are two different things. Still, it's a good point on what Miami might do.

Word is that Daniel Thomas has been struggling. He's certainly no Peyton Hillis right now.

"Word is" is useless for a player who may be important in the Parcellian coaching tree (in games one and two).

As for him not yet being Peyton Hillis yet, I agree (that's why they may not be able to execute).

I am making a point that Reggie Bush is augmented by a bruiser (round 2), who may be "hiding" a bit.

Yes, "Word is". I'm not down there watching Miami's practices so I'll have to rely on the reports, which say Thomas has struggled.

That was the combination of any given Sunday on a defense that had gone a little too young too suddenly and a couple of guys flashing some talent... In his overall two year stint as OC of the Browns they ranked 32nd and 29th in the league in offense. Bill wouldn't even let him be the QB's coach here, which is why he followed Mangenius to NY (where they wouldn't let him be anything else...) and on to Cleveland where the only person of influence he impressed other than Mangini was consultant Kosar...

In a radio interview around the time he was hired, Heath Evans said he was stunned that Miami would even consider Daboll, he was not remotely a brains of the organization type in all the time Heath played in NE's offense...

I see using Bush as a Kevin Faulk type gameplan on 3rd down,Thats when Bush is dangerous and Daboll may use Bush's strengths that way and keep
3rd downs away from Henne to have to complete.

Bush is the X-Factor
