Chandlers last on the list to me IMO. He's a very good player, but I think the hope is that Flowers develops into being his replacement. At least let him play out his five years, though. Wouldn't trade him off early or anything.Plus Butler, and maybe Chandler Jones for good measure. They've got a lot of work to do this offseason if they want to prevent core defensive players from hitting the open market. Glad they're doing deals like this (and Solder) early so they can concentrate on that stuff later.

SOP for the Pats. They reward solid performance and try to be fair.
The did a similar deal with Woody in 2010 after only a few games.
We will have to see how Hicks performsAssuming Lewis can avoid the injury bug, it is a heck of a deal for the Patriots. I was worried
about losing him to free agency. I hope they extend other players like Hicks and Martin if
they prove themselves. These are modest contracts compared to what Jones, Hightower and
Hicks will command.
