Stranded a LOT of men on base in game 7. Left Lester in too long. Never pinch hit for Veritek or Kotsay when they had Casey waiting on the bench. Jed Lowrie as your last out? OUCH.

Why is it now when a team loses it is always a "choke"?

Tampa Bay was the better team, and they won. Period.

Exactly. We gave it everything we had and came up a little short. It happens. If second-guessing makes you feel better, be my guest. But it doesn't change the score.

Looking forward to a better team and result in '09.

Yeah, not a choke.

The healthier team with the better record and home field advantage won. Still hurts like hell. People seem to think ALCS appearances are common, any time a team I root for comes so close but comes up just short it's going to kill.

No, and what is everyone's obsession with Casey. Is it just to see a new guy at the plate because of all the weak hitting we have seen. Casey looked awful.

The Sox were down 7-0 with two outs in the 7th inning of game 5 and pulled off one of the most incredible comebacks I've ever seen. Then they go to Tampa and gut out a 4-2 win vs the so called "ace" of the Doofins staff, then are down 3-1 and have the bases loaded in the 8th in game 7, one hit away from a tie game and who knows after that.

I'd hardly call that a choke; no offense to all of you showering the Doofin Rays with praise, but they almost blew the series and have no love for them OR their band wagon pack of frauds known as a fan base; please. When the Sox played down there in September with FIRST PLACE in the division on the line, they couldn't sell out that sh!thole of a stadium, those fans don't deserve a championship.

I hope they shot their load like the Yankees did in 2003 vs the Sox and get smoked by the Phillies.

AND, tell me Pena, he of 5 teams in 6 years and barely makeng the Rays last year has become one of the most feared left handed hitters in all of MLB without some artificial help.

Give me an effin break.
