I think he picked the wrong word. Starks was brought in at a substantial risk. Risk is the word.

Starks had a horrible shoulder injury and he played with it because we were quite thin at CB. People ragged on him mercilessly but he couldn't even raise that arm above his head. Nobody knew because of Mr. Secrecy down.

I think there where far better choices. How about Addai. i know hindsight is 20 / 20 but if a first round player leaves you wishing you picked elsewhere then there are some issues IMO.

Ted Williams supposedly had 20-15 eyesight. That would be the level of hindsight around here.

There's a reason certain teams have top draft picks every year but continually stink and it's because they exhibit no patience and fold in the face of fan criticism.

Fortunately our team isn't like that, which is why they give players every chance to succeed and resist the urge to dwell on negative thinking.

You want to redo all the drafts. It's not going to happen.

So what is your point? You want to dump Maroney? No? You want to draft McFadden and burden our cap at one position? No?

What is it with you guys and hanging your hat on one meaningless stat? Do you think Laurence Maroney is better than LT this year? Afterall, his YPC is way better. Is he better than Larry Johnson? Is Peyton Manning better than Tom Brady because his career QB rating is better than Brady's? Is Kurt Warner better than Joe Montana because he has a better career QB rating? Wow, you guys are unreal. So you actually believe Maroney's inability to break long runs is the o-line's fault and not Maroney's? You actually think Belichick keeps Maroney from getting more than 12-15 carries because he likes keeping him on the sideline??? Do you HONESTLY think LT, Larry Johnson, Tike Barber, or some other legitemate STUD would be getting only 12-15 carries on this team? Wake up. no but since u fail to watch games, i have to bring up stats.

inability to break long runs? he is a homerun hitter. u expect him to break long runs when he gets 10 carries a game? on plays like draws and other handoffs from shotgun formation?

he gets what the OL provides for him. If u watch the games over again, you see that if theres a hole, hes there. the small gains come from our OL not blocking. We sort of make it obvious when we run as well..when Maroney is in we usually handoff. When Faulk is in..we pass more.

Benched? McDaniels didnt t hink that when he defended Maroney during a press conference. He said hes happy with him..his role changes week to week like every players.


still using dancing reason? u go put pads on and when u have 2 defenders in your face, tell me what u do...do u try to run 2 guys over when u get the handoff?

and dont bring up evans and eckel because the plays Maroney got are 2 different styles. Maybe our OL isnt fit for zone blocking and we should just stick to power?

its clear that were a passing team. do the math

4.6 ypc x (21-22) carries = 97-101 yards

most carries hes gotten was 20. Then 19. and he did have a 100 yard game against Buffalo

Since the playoffs will go through foxboro, and the weather likely won't be too good around then, the running game will become a greater part of the picture by that time. We'll see if Maroney's up to the challenge by then.

Morris ran like the type of runner we want. He ran like Antowain Smith and Corey Dillon did. Straight ahead and hard. Maroney is always dancing and cutting back. That's why he found himself on the bench against the #22 ranked rushing defense in the league last sunday night.

The pats have the fifth best rushing attack in the NFL? The pats would run the ball just as much if they had a guy like Addai. The difference is when Addai touched the rock there would be better results.

I know how bad you want LoMo to bust out. I feel the same way. I am concerned about his field vision. It seems poor. If that is the case he is toast.

I agree. You can talk about all the ypc stats you want. When I watched Sammy run I saw a back who exploded through the hole to get positive yards. He looked great. Sammy looked much better in there then Maroney.

He looked great. Man I wish Sammy was healthy.
