Demetrius Byrd in critical care after car crash

"LSU wide receiver Demetrius Byrd’s injuries aren’t considered life-threatening or career-threatening and he’s expected to make a complete recovery after being involved in a car accident Sunday in Miami that has left the NFL draft prospect hospitalized in stable condition, according to a statement released by his agents."
This is from PFT...so I wanted to clear the air about the situation...

Thanks for the update. Per PFT, "Byrd has suffered several injuries, hurting his shoulder and ear lobe while also suffering scratches and bruises on his face and arms, according to a source close to the situation." Presumably he had some head trauma and perhaps a mild brain injury (such as a concussion) since he is reportedly getting multiple CT scans (the "hourly" CT scans which PFT mentions is ridiculous, but it is standard practice to get serial CTs in patients with mild head injuries to make sure that there is no progression, which can occur rapidly as it did in the case of Natasha Richardson). The rest of his injuries sound like scrapes and bruises, so as long as there is no serious brain injury he should be fine in the long run.

I just wanted to get the latest..and since it was seen as maybe a critical situation...I just wanted to get the latest out on the board....always sad when there is any injury or hospital situation...

I hope he's okay. I think he will do really well in the NFL, if he can put his skills to some good use. If he falls to the 5-7 rounds he would be a great pickup.
