Yes, some of them have worked out quite well over the years and some have been dismal failures. I'd like to see a talented rookie for a change, but as that position is not prioritized by the Patriots I guess it doesn't matter.LOL!
The Pats ground game for the past 17 seasons has rarely been "league-leading" in rushing yards, but almost always in the top-10 or so. The Pats have also typically been in the top 6 in rushing TDs.
Nearly all re-treads and UDFAs - only four RBs drafted in the past decade or so.
Not sure why they should change an approach that's worked so consistently for nearly two decades.
Rather sign Shane Vareen who may be released.
When you can pick guys like Alvin Kamara in the 3rd round for literally pennies on the dollar, why bother with veterans?
