After four years of disrespect from the talking heads, from being called a reach when drafted to a Smurf right up to the end, Deion is finally considered a playmaker and a difference maker. Tonight Jaws explained why the Seahogs will win because Deion will prevent the Giants from putting seven men in the box and will stretch the field.

Funny, in all the Sportscenter and NFL Prime Time (now NFL Live) yakking about football over the years, I do not remember them EVER speaking highly of Deion Branch. When they talked about WRs, Branch's name never came up. But right now it seems Branch is a bigger playmaker than TO, Steve Smith, and "Houshmazilla/Hoosyamama" combined.

I'm sure you mean well by starting this thread and all, but who gives a **** out a ratt's ass what the f#ck anyone has to say about that little pukebag!

But, yeah, all Ex-Pats are given the red carpet treatment until they completely disappear into the woodwork and reveal how minor a part they really played in the overall success of the Pats franchise.

I'm sure that punkchild will disappear from fame just like every other Ex-Pat.

NO more Meion Branch threads, aye aye. From now on when I start a thread it will be about Ty Law, not Meion.

Sounds good to me. Law was as good as any player to wear a Pats uniform, and he honored his contract to the end. Although he said some stupid things in the middle somewhere!

He's the flavor of the month.

Forget about the fact the Seahawks already had plenty of receivers.

Darrell Jackson, Burleson, (7 yrs 49 mil) Bobby Engram and Neon?

Kind of leaves table scraps for the OLine DLine LB etc. especially after Alexanders contract. Hasselback? I don't know.

But you know the old NFL saying "high paid wide receivers win championships".

No, I think it was something about defense and trenches.

Your basic premise is flawed... you are saying ESPN is now fawning over Branch since Jaworski praised him. That's wrong. What Jaworski says is his own opinion based on hour after hour of film breakdown, not what the hype machine dictates. He has praised Branch before, although often in the context of praising Brady at the same time. And the fact Jaws praised Branch says nothing about the rest of ESPN.

who cares...does it really matter??

The Red Sox have
Bucky #@$%*%^ Dent
Aaron #@$%*%^ Boone
Johnny #@$%*%^Damon

The Pats have
Deion #@$%*%^ Branch

Who is this Branch fella you speak of?

It sickens me when the Dead Sox are mentioned in the same sentence as the Patriots. (or the same post).

Not quite.......Deion has to come up big VS the Pats, say a winning catch in a Superbowl in order to earn the right to add "#@$%*%^" to his moniker.

This is absolutely true. Up till the holdout, Deion was a nobody. Even the announcers denigrated his MVP, saying "they had to give it to someone other than Brady". How many times did we hear how pedestrian our WR are ? At 998 and 5 TDs, no one at the end of last season was proclaiming Branch as the next coming of Jerry Rice.

Now, as a useful tool of the media idiots, he is now a superstar, and the Patriots refusal to pay him like one is a sign of "franchise rot".

Journalism has ceased to be a profession that reports the story as it happened, but a movement dedicated to twisting the story as they WISH it to be.

Yeah, whatever. You remind me of my first grader lawyers.

ME: "Are you children going to see the foliage this weekend? It is out now."

1st GRADERS: "Why do you say the foliage is out now? The trees have had foliage all summer long. (tee hee hee)."

ME: "I meant when the leaves get their color."

1st GRADERS: "Green is a color. (tee hee hee).

ME: "ESPN is giving Branch respect."

1st GRADERS: "ESPN isn't giving Branch respect. The analysts at ESPN are giving him respect. (tee hee hee)"

You can call it semantics and ridicule my point all you want, but you are simply ignoring what I was saying. Jaworski is not part of the ESPN hype machine, he comes by his opinions by film study, and until the Sportscenter anchors and guys like Salisbury fawn over Branch what you said doesn't mean much.

Don't make me revive the Deion Branch appreciation thread.
