I think the pats are pushing the story about all 24 balls filled in room temperatute at 12.5. 12 of them used in the first half lost some air so they got the backup balls out after the half and went with it. I pray to god that mort meant .2 and not 2lbs.

Hes getting pissed....

He sounds confident....i believe him at least IMO

Brady sounding very confident in this interview. Saying "they won the game fair and square."

I am still thinking the refs didn't do their job despite what they say.
Me too. Just passed the squeeze test like Mike Giarridi said.

He said he likes 12.5 so you would think the balls he had inspected would be at that pressure

Thank you for the scientific explanation Benny. It was over my head but I seem to get the concept - cold temperature can lead to balls losing inflation, in a similar way hot temperatures could allow balls to travel farther and longer in warm weather. It could merely have been the result of environmental conditions. Let me know if I got that one right.

Now let me ask this -- If the shoe was on the other foot, does anyone here feel the Patriots or Robert Kraft would be calling for Chuck Pagano to be fired or suspended from the Superbowl? No, they wouldn't. Because they don't make excuses for losing. A lot of people need to grow up and understand that sometimes you just get your butt kicked because the other team is better. Not because of some allegedly deflated footballs.

Here's my rant:

To everyone out there who is now giving the Patriots grief about the underinflated balls, I would like to introduce you to basic Chemistry. If you can remember chemistry, in it, we learned about something called the Natural Gas Law in which we learned there was a ratio between pressure and temperature.

Pressure is caused by the force of the gas molecules impacting the sides of its container. The higher the temperature, the more pressure can be created by the same volume of gas. When the temperature is lowered, pressure reduces (PV=nRT where P= Pressure, V=Volume, n=moles of gas, R=gas constant and T= Temperature). If you want to do the math yourself, here's some handy hints.

First, solve for P.

P= nRT/V.

Second, we have to decide what remains constant and eliminate it. Well, the gas constant, obviously. The internal volume of the ball does not change, either, leaving us with....

P= nT.

Third, for the sake of argument (and this is a valid point, as well), we'll assume the loss of the gas moles is negligible to the point you can write off n as well.

P=T

Fourth, we now have to set up a situation wherein we have a beginning and ending set.

Gay-Lussac's Law states:

P1/T1= P2/T2.

Once you get the numbers from the temperature inside Gillette where the balls were initially filled and the numbers outside where they were then tested, you arrive at a situation wherein you lose pressure.

The league hasnt even contacted him yet???? Wtf.....

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe · now
The league has known about this since Monday and hasn't spoken to the freaking quarterback yet? This thing ain't going away anytime soon.

WTF

Brady's getting more confident. He's starting to talk right over these mediots.
