All the balls used in the 2nd half were within regs as they were the back up balls. So the pts were kosher

Globe item states the balls coming coming from an 82 degree room would be sufficient.
Simple, effective, within the rules, gain an advantage for TB.
No brainer. It fits.

What was the wind chill?

Looks like it was a bit windy that time of night (from Weather Underground):

Time (EST) Temp Wind Speed Gust Speed
5:53 PM 52.0 15.0 mph 25.3 mph
6:53 PM 52.0 19.6 mph 29.9 mph
7:53 PM 51.1 16.1 mph 28.8 mph
8:53 PM 52.0 19.6 mph 33.4 mph
9:23 PM 51.1 18.4 mph 33.4 mph

Using NOAA's formula for Wind Chill I get a windchill temp of about 44-45 deg F (7 deg. C).

Wait, what did the colts say about using deflated balls in Indy?
Its been reported that the Pats used deflated balls there and that is why the colts were on guard this time.

Should have kept quiet as in the 2nd half the Pats throttled them with "legal" balls.

I should be excited for the Patriots making it to the Superbowl. After we won the AFC Championship game, I was and couldnt wait for the game. Now, with all this bs about this nonstory, Im like meh. The media has already made their verdict before anything from the league has come down. I hope the league makes their decision so we can be done with this and move on.

For my 2cents Blount scored 3 rushing touchdowns. He could've carried a beach ball. Also doesn't hurt we only gave up 7 points #inflatethis

The 2nd half balls were legal!!!!!!

Shannon Sharpe was on NFLRadio this morning. I had to turn it off. It's bad enough just listening to him speak, but then add to that his piling on the Patriots before we have a final report. Not to mention the fact that his 97-98 Super Bowl Champion Donkies were fined more for salary cap violations than the Patriots were for Spygate. Hypocrite.

The perception and reality just changed. Balls were legal when the majority of pts were scored.

Patriots used ref-approved backup balls in the second half. I guess they did not reinflate the older balls.

The statistics for both halves where the Pats used under inflated balls in the first and ref approved balls in the second will support that the Colts lost legitimately. Brady played better with the proper footballs so why would the Pats intentionally mess with Brady's balls? It is well known that QBs prefer specially handled/inflated balls between the PSI min/max limits.

Changing the PSI of a ball would throw off Brady's mechanics and make him play worse. And this is proof as his 2nd half statistics, with the proper footballs, were better than his first half which had the under inflated balls.

Finally a rational post

I know this will sound crazy but I wonder if we had a bad pressure gauge. In one of the Rules sections it said the team provides the balls and a pressure gauge. If we pumped the ball with a bad gauge and gave that to the refs that could explain why they measured OK. Question at halftime, use a different gauge and, voila. Also Brady played better in the second half, no ducks like the one to Vereen that looked like it was, um, under inflated.

OK, far fetched, but even if we did it I don't see how we would logistically unless the balls aren't kept very securely after the first weigh in.
