Super Bowl-winning head coach Josh McDaniels has a nice ring to it, if the unthinkable happens.

Cant see how it is not a distraction regardless of what they say..it is definitely a distraction.

It was a distraction back in 07.
There's no doubt in my mind that this will serve as a serious distraction this year.
Imagine how bad team morale is at this moment in time?
The entire country is foaming at the mouth with the hopes that the Patriots get dismantled over this.

Because what gets Fox more viewers and web hits? The controversy!
Fox Sports blows, their web ages bog down so bad you cannot even comment or read comments
If Kraft fires Belichick, I'll never support the Patriots again. And I'm dead serious, born and raised twenty five years a Pats fan.
Was gonna say would never happen, but if BB was in charge of this and has been doing this for some time, yeah, he probably SHOULD be fired, but nothing has been proven yet. Lets see how this goes.

If Kraft fires Belichick, I'll never support the Patriots again. I may never watch the NFL again. I'm dead serious, born and raised twenty five years a Pats fan. I never cared for Kraft whom I believe owes a hell of a lot to Belichick and Brady.
Indeed. There's several things that possibly could make me cease to spend any money on the NFL. I';ll see how this plays out.

Kraft would hurt his legacy with his own fans by firing belechick.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Back your coach up dude and go after the nfl for being hypocrites.

If the Vikings were WARMING balls in plain sight and no one cared then kraft needs to ask why it matters now. Not fire the man who brought him all the success. If he did that he might as well throw all the trophies in the trash cause that's what he'd be saying.

I've said it before, but if anyone needs to be fired it's head of Pats PR. This docile approach killed them in Spygate and it's killing them now.

CONTROL. THE. STORY.

If you are coming out with statements, that is the lead, not Glazer and these goons stretching any little bit of info that they can suck out of some contact's butt.

I know they don't want to be too declarative in a public statement, but leak your angle to a Mike Reiss or someone and start getting ahead of things.

Amateur hour from PR. Say what you want about Redskins and Snyder, but the way they went on offensive about the name change was ultimately smart.

That makes sense to me too.

But there's the whole ambushing thing.

Unless Belichick and the Patriots were privately warned to stop this practice, Jay Glazer is reporting that it was the League's intention to ambush them/catch them by surprise at half-time (Im putting that in my own words) when a simple warning to desist would have avoided ALL of this.

If so, shame on the League.

And I can't imagine that Belichick would have ignored a warning by the League to stop and then not comply.. again.
You would really hope not....

But I also don't think that Goodell would help Kraft out, anymore than he did with Spygate. Kraft and Goodell might get along, but clearly BB and Goodell do not. I think the issue is Kraft might not be willing to stand in the wind with Belichick this time.

Agree completely. If he stands with Göodel over Belichick I'm done.

Curran is speculating I dont believe a word of it. even if they find the Pats culpable there will be no way to prove who did what. Not going down like Curren wants it to no matter how bad he wishes it.
Yeah, Curran is wishing for the demise of BB. Out of your mind.

Do you realize there's a difference between making an argument that you believe to be true, versus an argument that defends what you really really prettyplease want?

I've been following the team since Lou Saban was the coach and I'm with you on that. I'm pretty close to bailing anyway with the way the Krafts are [not] handling this.

I think you all underestimate how highly Kraft sees himself within the league itself. Nor is it unprecedented for owners to make shocking moves to preserve their own integrity, or ego, or otherwise.

Sean Peyton was not fired for being the coach of a team who wanted to intentionally hurt players. Mike Tomlin was not fired for internationally tripping an opposing player.

I find it hard to believe Kraft will fire Belichick because balls were under-infalted. You get rid of Bill, Brady follows and this team and their success goes down the drain. Another possible black eye in favor of continued success seems like a fair trade to me if I'm Kraft.

Now if Goodell doesn't help with this situation anyway, then does Kraft really give a flying crap whether or not he's still BFFs with the commish?

I honestly won't give a **** that happens.

Honestly I have no idea what to think and why are we going to these conclusions.

Pats are alleged to have underinflated balls after they were checked by refs

Balls were checked and new ones used during the whole second half.

11 of 12 were under by 2lbs per square inch.

League is investigating.

That's all we know at this point. Will just wait as more info arrives, and ultimately a league statement.

Then is Aaron Rodgers being dumped by the league?

The Patriots are different. The Patriots, like it are not, are 'repeat offenders' in terms of violating the precious 'league ethics' or whatever they call it. The Patriots thumbed their noses at everyone after Spy Gate- rightfully so in most respects- and continued to win. People resent the Patriots. People want BB, on the cusp of another SB, to finally be humbled. This is it. AGAIN AND AGAIN, the question is whether Kraft is willing to stand by BB through another ****storm. I tend to agree with Curran: I think, with the 'integrity of the LEAGUE!' at stake, he'll be less inclined than he was with Spygate...

Hate Hate the Ravens and Colts they needed to find a way to get Luck a ring this was the only way they could figure it out.

Dont really understand all of what your saying, curran, me? but...If someone believes everything Curran says or wants then I feel bad about that. Matter of fact is someone believes half of what any mediot writes then...well not sure what to say. Curran is just another moron with a keyboard and nothing to do but write garbage and surf porn.

And even then it's possible that all of those reports could be false and nothimg really happened... unlikely but not impossible until we know the leagues statement and report
