Just how bad was the defense?!? - Extra Points - Boston.com

Real bad. Historically bad.

Check out this stat that my colleague Adam Kilgore dug up: The 484 yards the Patriots defense gave up this week was the third worst performance statistically of the Belichick Era. The 2001 Colts and 2001 Rams are the only ones to cover more ground offensively on New England this decade.
