Defense on third and fourth down was just painful to watch, in contradiction to an overall fine defensive effort otherwise. Really hope they get this tuned up for the AFCCG.

The defense has struggled on 3rd down most of this season. They were worse today due to the threat of Alex Smith running the ball. KC also made some nice plays on 3rd down. This is definitely an area that needs to improve.

The defense was far worse overall in last year's Divisional game. The important thing is that they made enough stops to win, just as they did against Baltimore.

It's as if the defense knows that allowing a 3rd or 4th down conversion eats away at my soul.

I don't get it because we seem to get a pretty decent pass rush. At least in my opinion

Chiefs were 4th in 3rd down defense this year (33.77%). They gave up 50% conversion (6/12).

Patriots were 11th in 3rd down defense this year (37.33%). We gave up 60% conversion (12/20).

Both teams offenses played well today.
