The team has exactly ZERO critical decisions to make. Belichick's off-season has been that good. Obviously, there is always the possibility of a signing or trade to upgrade at almost any position.
None of these decisions have to be made before the draft, although they might happen. As of now, we will go into the draft looking for backups at DE, LB and OT; anything else is gravy with only 3 picks in the first four rounds.
RUNNING BACK
Bulkhead isn't getting paid over $3M to be a backup to Lewis and White. We have Foster for that. Belichick could add a running back. In fact, it seems likely. After all, running backs get injured. We could sign Blount or Peterson, or not. I guess I should repeat: Bolden is a special teamer, and is not counted on to play running back, although he can certainly fill the role of emergency backup.
AMENDOLA
There is no rush to adjust the salary of the #5 WR and primary punt returner. IMHO, this adjustment doesn't affect anyone else at WR; we only need four. If Amendola doesn't stay, we need a punt returner. Of course, as always, belch can add WR's for camp to add to Lucien.
BUTLER
I guess we'll find out what Belichick really thinks about Butler's attitude. Perhaps a team will pay a first, although this seems unlikely. The OPEN question is whether Belichick trades Butler after he signs his RFA contract, before or after the draft. Belichick could keep Butler for 2 years at under $10M AAV; most would consider this a bargain. And yes, Belichick could sign or trade for another CB.
GARAPPOLO
Will we trade him? Will it be before the draft? Belichick could wait and trade him later. He could be even MORE valuable. Or, Belichick could simply wait and keep this insurance on the squad.
