Dan Quinn on SBLI: "I'm not over it"

He'll never be over it. I'll be very surprised if the Falcons return next season and make another deep run in the playoffs.

That was a soul crushing defeat. It takes a lot of mental toughness to overcome that and fight your way back to the top. We shall see.

I don't want to make a new thread either, do you think the Pats will trade Garoppolo?

Ha! Your joke failed. If I knew that I'm sure I would have known the question I asked. Look below for a joke that doesn't fail.

I don't want to start a new thread but I'm going to the combine this weekend and I'll try and talk to BB if I have the time and get his mindframe on a few things.

Thank you kindly, sir!

It's too bad, because he really prepared the Falcons well for that game. Yeah, no doubt he's questioning some 4th quarter calls, but his team's execution on those calls...and the Patriots' outstanding execution on them...didn't help his cause.

If there's anything he really has to own is why his offense kept snapping the ball with a lot of time left on the play clock. That's 100% on him.

Regards,
Chris

Everyone has that one "woulda, coulda, shoulda". And this is his....

My job is pretty much full time year round, one of the seasonal staff, a Falcons fan, texted me yesterday about something work related, we haven't talked to each other since the morning of SB LI, and this is what he said "I am still so mad, nobody makes two point converts in one game, gawd"

It will be fascinating to watch the first few Falcon regular season games (especially if they are the thursday night opponent). If they have any sort of a lead, how many will have doubt sink into their mind. Hopefully someone tells Blank to stay the **** in his owners box for the indefinite future...

I'm not either; I've been hard as a rock ever since. What's the general rule on how long to wait before consulting a doctor?

Just call more ladies...

Name of this doctor? I need it for, uh, research purposes.

google "kinzie kenner a dying man's wish". it seems like she's a world-renowned (and compassionate) urologist.

I don't know why he did that interview.
If he said he was "over it," nobody would have believed him.
By saying he's "not over it," he makes it easier for his players to continue dwelling on it.

Makes me appreciate even more the genius of Bill Belichick when he said, "We're on to Cincinnati."

It would have been a totally different answer if Quinn had said something like: "That was a tough way to lose any football game, let alone a Super Bowl, but we're on to next season."
If asked, "But are you over it?" he could just have said, "We're on to next season."
If asked, "But what did you learn from the loss?" he could have said, "Everyone, players and coaches alike, have a lot to learn from the great season we had as well as from that game."

Oh Good God! I've been listening to Belichick too long!

I can picture that press conference exactly, right down to the Belichick Media Face as he says it.

Has a single man ever completely redefined a franchise the way BB redefined the Patriots?

Add on the fact that he was the Seattle D coordinator with a team that gave up the greatest 4th quarter to Brady et al....yeah, he's gonna have ghosts for a while.

With hyper competitive people the losses hurt 5x worse than any win can feel good. He'll move on and be able to deal with the loss and work for next season, but there will always be times you wander back to those moments...especially if you don't have something to replace them with.

So what your saying is TB needs 5 more to balance the scales. I like it, get to work TB.

Dan Quinn.. We have broken that man's heart on more than one occasion.

For rent: well-developed space, cool in the summer due to unique reflective roof. Enjoy view from the top for almost an entire season.

UPDATE: NO LONGER AVAILABLE. BILL BELICHIK OCCUPYING SPACE RENT-FREE.

I know the feeling. I'm still not 100% over 2007. The last two rings have helped, but I still feel physically ill when I think about the ending to that season.

Just think, you say this AND we have 5 Super Bowl trophies around that time period to help ease the pain.

Could you imagine NOT having those? That's what Atlanta and their fans are dealing with.
