Re: Wow I feel sorry for Bills fans

Yeah I've lost all empathy for the other teams in the AFC East. But at the same time, did Dallas really deserve the win? This is a lose-lose situation. The rest of the division is so far down the crapper that it's no longer worth discussing, but I honestly would rather have seen the Bills NOT blow it and fuel the media's obsession with propping up an NFC team that thrives on weak competition.

I had a feeling even after that return for a TD in the second half that they'd blow it, and they did. I can't feel sorry for these turds any more.

The first line is supposed to block the oncoming players, not go for the ball, otherwise whoever catches the ball is going to get blasted. The goats on the play were Mike Gains, who didn't block Sam Hurd before 10 yards, Terrence McGee, who was too far back to be a factor, and another Bill I didn't see, who was a hands player and was completely out of position to catch the kick.

Tough luck for the Bills. Dallas recovers that onside kick, then Folk kicks TWO 53yd FGs to win it. So much for icing the kicker. Dallas stole this game as much as Buffalo gave it away.

    Regards,
    Chris

You see a game like this once every 5-10 years. Dallas down by 8 with a minute to go,and come back to win in the fasion they did.

The 3-dollar bills lost the game at the end of the first half. Instead of going for the 4th-down conversion (my 1st choice) or perhaps a pooch-punt from a FG formation (2nd choice), Jauron pu$$ies out by attempting an unmakeable FG, and gives Dallas 7 yards in the process. If, on 3rd/8 from the Dallas 41, you attempt a 5-yard pass, then you are telling me that you are in 4-down territory. Unimaginative, gutless coaching. Then to top it all off, this loser has his QB eyeball his target for an INT, instead of having him hand the ball to his RB on 3rd down to set up the easy FG, and an 11-point lead, with 6 minutes remaining. Panic-driven, brainless coaching.

Dick Jauron will never win as a HC in the NFL. He just doesn't have what it takes.

That unmakable FG was only 1 yard longer than the two Nick Folk kicked to win the game.

Difference was in one situation there was a better choice, and in the other there was no alternative. Belichick would have considered Romo's abyssmal performance to date and the prowess of his pro bowl punter and tried to pin Dallas as close to the goal line as possible with 35 seconds left in the quarter. Instead Jauron handed them great field position and a very makeable shot at a FG before the half ended, which they got. Then his idiot OC who handcuffed the rookie most of the night got pass happy in the red zone and blew a chip shot FG for a pick. That's a 6 point swing in a game Dallas salvaged by 3 with 2 seconds left only after recovering an onside kick Jauron's ST totally miscovered.

Re: Wow I feel sorry for Bills fans

Or twice in less than a calendar year. This was quite literally a re-run of the Cardinals vs. Bears game only a field goal won it instead of a missed field goal losing it.

I don't know if the actual result of this game matters as much in terms of Sunday's matchup as the overall physical effect on the Cowboys does. If that had lost this as they should have, they would want to be going out next week to make a statement. They win it like this, and they can feel like it was a bump in the road and keep comparing themselves to the Pats and the Colts.

They'll have homefield advantage but the Pats will be better rested and are more poised for this type of game.

I agree with everything you said there. I have just finished watching the game and could only think of that Edwards redzone pick, when Folk kicked at the end. Why they opted for that pass is anyone's guess.
I really like our chances next week.

    Edit: What an amazing game!

We talk about it, so we can laugh when we predict the excuse correctly. We love predictions on this board. Someone should start a predict the Cowboys excuse thread.

Re: Wow I feel sorry for Bills fans

It happens much more often than that...

It happens a few times every season and illustrates why the Patriots shouldn't ever be accused of running up the score... a TD here, an INT/TD there and an onside kick recovered and moved in for a TD and before you know it you can see 21 points racked up in a matter of minutes.

Depending on your perspective, sometimes Murphy's Law comes into play... a good example is the Patriots final 2002 season game, which the team needed to win to make the playoffs (along with some help elsewhere in the league)

Down 11 points, 5 minutes to play - from the Patriots perspective, everything that had to happen for them to win, DID happen. It's not as rare as people think:
