Boston Sports Media Watch has wound up its approval ratings.
You'll be glad to learn that the guy you want to lose ... did lose.
On the very bottom of the list of - what was it? - 53 sports media personalities
... with only a 12% approval rating.

Also, Shaughnessy finished 5th from the bottom, with 75% agin 'im.

On the plus side, Mike Reiss finished near the top.

Near the Top and Apparently he had the most approval votes just not the highest percentage.

Ah, I get it. His media rivals categorize him as a house writer and THEY voted the disapprovals.

It would be nice if the punishment for low approval ratings for journalists in Boston was the guillotine.

Note the negative correlation between BSMW disapproval and ratings (e.g. D&C morning team trio). Interesting.

Those ratings seem quite appropriate. Reiss and Gorman at the top (who the hell would disapprove either of those guys?? Honestly, I want to find the 39 people who disapproved Gorman and find out what the hell is wrong with them). Gasper and Bulpett are great - I'm surprised Holley wasn't higher though.

I'm surprised Bob Ryan was as high as he is. He's a truly awful sports writer at this point - his one redeeming quality was basketball knowledge, but he is absurdly out of touch with the game (his pre-season article on the Celtics bench hinted at the fact that he doesn't even watch the games anymore and had no idea who was on the benches on the Western teams he thought were so strong).

I'm surprised Tomase got as even high a rating as he did - his downward sprial began long before the Rams article. There was a point in time in which he was a pretty decent beat guy, but he started to become worthless at some point. For those that think his disapproval is merely b/c of the Rams article - they are mistaken, he really wasn't popular before that.

Dennis & Callahan's disapproval is no surprise - they suck at talking about sports. But people tune in b/c they're fun to hate. Please, people, start turning the dial down to 1510 where they actually talk sports in the morning. Save yourself the trouble.
