Solid move!

Agree on Patterson. Wes wasn't *WES*, but he was still damned good. 86 receptions for 848 yards (9.9 avg) and 7 touchdowns. One of the best slot receivers in the game coming off a torn ACL. At age 29. Edelman is 30.

My kids were 17 and 20, respectively, when they tore their ACLs. So yes bodies bounce back quicker. But they're also not world-class athletes with world-class medical care. And it's not their full-time job to tend to their bodies. I'd be shocked if Edelman isn't EDELMAN in 2018.

Also, Welker tore his ACL in the final regular season game and had 8 months to recover before the start of the following season. Edelman will have had a full year to recover.

I’m wondering if Lauletta doesn’t go in the second with all of the hype that he’s receiving.

It’s interesting that you see 3/4 high round draft picks going to the defense, when QB, OT, and maybe even TE or WR could be taken. It’s possible we could see 2 on offense (QB, OT) and 2 on defense (LB, CB/S).

I’m not sold on him personally but from what I’ve read and bits of tape I’d say 3rd round really..

OT there is none in the draft that stand out for me unless we’re going to take a flyer in the later rounds.

My ideal draft would be Landry, Evans or LVE, Carter and then a TE/WR/S/CB with our standard 2nd

Two ACL tears....hope you had a good health plan

If BB wasn't so uptight he could've been the Dude
If aspire to be The Dude someday.

Maybe when I retire and the kids are out of the house.

I have said it before and will say it again "Football Fans are Hypocrites". Seriously I was among the few who called Cooks a complimentary WR but got roasted by the BB disciples. The ones who thought he was the second coming. I thought Cooks played very well in the Playoffs had that unfortunate injury in the SB. That said I expected a better year two and Cooks is a player the Defense have to respect. So don't give me that Dorsett crap he has sucked up to now and in no way in Cooks league. I don't like the Trade why?? BB have a Horrible track record in drafting WR on the Patriots. You can have alot of draft picks but it's who you Draft. We haven't Drafted well recently and losing First round picks didn't help. This is a Huge Draft for BB and the Patriots.
So you would pay a complimentary WR $14m a year or lose him for a comp pick?

Entirely different situation. Moss was on the back end of his career when the Pats got him.
The point I’m trying to make is there’s no hard rule that Bill won’t ever pay a top wide out. It’s all situational.

Ya you're missing a guy that had 130 yards and 1 TD in the SB. Chris Hogan, a guy that has proven he's good in this offense
Ah of course, yes he’s key.

If the Pats draft Lauletta, when they do so will depend on the answers to two questions:

1) Is he the most useful (to them) prospect at any position still available on their board when they're on the clock?
2) Is it probable that he'll be off the board when their next pick comes around?

If the answer to both questions is "Yes", they'll take him. The round won't matter a bit.

The same applies to any prospect on their board.

There any doubt that the Rams will be this year’s off season champ turned regular season flop? Throwing $100 on whatever the Rams under is.

We tried to extend Cooks before trading him.

Late to the party as usual.

I like it

Now I'd like to see us draft a linebacker and a left tackle in the first round

Pass rush QB of the Future is my wish list

Throwing this out there.

Detroit has ex Patriots in the right spots GM Quinn and HC Patricia...

Hey guys, how about releasing Megatron from his contract for a pick

Now thats full on Madden mode right there for yer!

Yeah, his 1,122 yards from scrimmage and 7 TDs was pretty mediocre. And, catching 6 of 8 for 100 yds in the AFCCG was pretty awful.

Also racked up like 70 some yards or more in the 2 big PI calls that game. I think we lose that game without him

How we didn't at least get both of SF's 2nd for Jimmy, still just blows my mind.
We traded a QB at mid season who was not under contract the follow year. How much do you think a team would be willing to give up? Keep in mind the 49ers had give Garoppolo a record contract on top of giving us a top 50 pick.
