Congrats/Condolences to Brian Hoyer on his upcoming first NFL start

Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910 reports that Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said Wednesday that Brian Hoyer will be under center in Week 17.

Bitter sweet to be sure, but he does have a WR or two. Who knows? With that defense he won't have to put up big numbers to keep them competitive. Maybe Fitzgerald will finally get some QB love.

I hope he does great, though he's playing one of the best defenses in the NFL. If he plays well, it will give credence to the idea that the Pats are good at developing QBs, and might even possibly have an indirect effect on Ryan Mallett's value.

It almost certainly won't happen, but it would be really strange if Tom Brady's backup for three years were to beat the team he lost to, two weeks ago.
