Concussion Spotters.

I understand the NFL wants to do all it can to ensure player safety is paraded as their number one concern but if they stop the game, is the timeout charged to the team whose player is suspected to be concussed? Or is it a new timeout that an offense can use to stop the clock in a 2min offense.

I believe that the rule will be used to remove Patriots who are outperforming their opponents, but hey that's just me.

Another thing put in place because the Patriots benefited from it not being in place.

Use legal formations, that the refs were aware of- Rule change
Patriots player continues to play in a game after taking a hit- Protocol change

Watch this thing will come into play once and it will be a Patriots player. Kind of like how that FG rule has only been called one time and that one time it benefited the jests against the Patriots.

It's still an injury so that part is the same. As I understand it the key difference is a "independent" spotter gets to make the call if the player can re-enter or needs a Dr to go through concussion protocol. I think they can also spot a guy as potentially being injured(concussed).

Seems fine to me except the NFL seems to think independent is a word that they interpret different than the rest of us.

I know this is cause of the Edelman hit in the super bowl but personally i like the rule change.

Frankly if such a rule were in place for the GB/Seattle game Wilson would have been forced to leave that game. I think the league should have independent doctors that evaluate cause you know if left up to the teams they will not take them out sometimes.
