Compensatory Pick Adjustments

There's an update at The excellent Over The Cap site on predicting the compensatory picks for this year. There are two adjustments for the Patriots:

1. Vince Wilfork will be net us a 5th rounder rather than a 6th
2. Akeem Ayers will net us a 7th rather than a 6th.

In terms of draft picks, that leaves us with (I believe):

3rd
3rd (Compensatory - Revis)
4th
5th (Compensatory - Wilfork)
6th (From Texans - Keshawn Martin)
6th (Compensatory - Vereen)
7th (From Texans - Mallet)
7th
7th (Compensatory - Ayers)

2016 Compensatory Draft Picks Update (12/2/2015) - Over the Cap

Apparently owners are going to shelve the idea of being able to trade compensatory draft picks until 2017, rather than 2016.

Of course it is pure coincidence that in the 2016 draft the Patriots will have plenty of compensatory picks, but no first rounder.

Definitely want a tackle, maybe a running back, but otherwise I think the team is in position to take best player available, which is great.

Brady 6th, Edelman 7th, Ryan and Harmon 3rd, Ebner 7th etc... BJGE, Butler, Andruzzi, Butler UDFA's.. the loss of a 1st round pick irritates me, but they will do ok in the draft..

As the dearth of talented depth league-wide, as well as on the Pats, a CB will be picked at some point.
