I think they will go back fairly soon, if not this year. They are loaded on D. Only weakness is the secondary but their front 7 is so strong, it will make up for it. Shanahan's running game has always been tough to defend. Jimmy and the passing game will get better.

They also avoided the Saints and Seahawks in the playoffs last year

Saints are chokers and people need to stop taking them seriously. 49ers already beat them at the Saints and would've annihilated them in SF. Seahawks on the other hand, would've been a scary match up.

It's amazing how analysts keep picking the Saints as an NFC favorite.

According to Chris Simms, who's somewhat close to Kyle Shanahan, said Brady had contacted the 49ers and they told him no. Could be money as you suggested.

Shanahan imploded like he did in the Super Bowl against NE. Atrocious play calling.

With that being said, all Jimmy had to do was make a couple throws to WIDE open guys late in the game not including Sanders and they probably win the game.

Defensively, had they stopped that long bomb to Hill on 3rd and 14, they probably win the game.

I knew SF was in deep s*** when Andy Reid started to go for it on multiple 4th downs.
