It should be shown to the crowd that just wants to release TEs like Allen and "just draft one". Projecting TEs is damn hard.

I read Barker's WeaveWorld shortly after it was released in paperback form. Maybe Bill can somehow secure a trip into the Fugue just prior to the draft; it might help him not screw up another one.

Lee Smith, BTW, was a 2011 5th-round pick by the Pats who was claimed off waivers by the Bills, ostensibly on his way to the Pats Psquad. He's since become a premier blocking TE, and Gruden just re-signed him to a new 3-year contract (no financial details publish yet, AFAIK).

*sigh* They lost Smith and Yeatman that offseason. I still don't know why, if BB was planning to run so many two-TE sets, that he went with just two TEs on the 53.

I forgot about Yeatman. Miami had him gain weight and used him as a reserve OL the following season, IIRC.

It may be that BB needed to do some other roster maneuvering before week-1 and was counting on at least one of the two to clear waivers to the PS?
