Clayton: Pats "frantically" calling around for third receiver

"Shockmain Davis, Tony Gaiter, Fred Coleman, Donald Hayes, Sir Mawn Wilson, Dietrich Jells, Hason Graham, Anthony Ladd, Ray Crittenden, Ronnie Harris and Will Moore..."

All those names would've existed untouched in my gray matter until I died were it not for this thread!

Seriously, I've always wondered team does Clayton support? I think it's the Steelers, but not sure. Clayton seems to nitpick about the Pats more than any other team in the league. Despite a 16-0 season, the guy still said the Jaguars will run all over the Pats in the playoffs. He also said that the 56-10 beating of the Bills was much closer than the score indicated. He also said the Pats 59-0 win over TEN was like a 7 on 7 scrimmage and it's hard to gauge how good offensively or defensively the Pats because the other team quit before they even got off the airplane.

Yet when Mark"hand the ball off a zillion times" Sanchez beats a team 7-2, he thinks he's the next coming of Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco.

"frantically"?
Give me a break

I'll see you and raise you a Shockmain Davis, Tony Gaiter, and Sir Mawn Wilson.

What about John Burke, Michael Timpson, Kevin Lee, Greg McMurtry, Henry Ellard, Tony Simmons

Someone on SoSH is saying Edelman has a broken arm and out 6-8 weeks and Reiss says he was not at the walkthrough today.

Oh, there was some frantic calling going on, no doubt. Clayton frantically calling anyone even remotely connected to the Pats organization for any tidbit of information and hoping in vain not to get hung-up on. Ex-players, staffers, janitors, beer vendors, anyone. I wonder if tried disguising his voice and pretending he was Reiss or somebody?

Edit: take that link with a grain of salt since there's no corroboration, but according to Reiss Edelman wasn't at practice today.

Slight difference, but Reiss says he didn't see Edelman at practice. I know its a minor distinction, but an article I read earlier today said everyone but Morris and Light were at practice.

A caller just said on PFW in Progress that John Clayton was on ESPN Dallas within the last half hour and said the Pats have been "frantically calling" teams for a third receiver.

The day John Clayton finds out that the Pats are doing anything frantically is the day that BB offers all of us a spot on his coaching staff because we know so much...

brilliant reporting. BB being, of course, one of the most comedically even-tempered coaches in all of professional sports.

Check Ray Crittenden's stats. He had more catches than all the rest put together. Not the worst 4th WR the Pats had.

One of the better catches Ive seen was Crittenden laying out on a TD pass from Bledsoe opening day vs Miami 1994.
