Patriots Player Departure Chase Winovich traded for Mack Wilson

I get the deal. Wino was clearly in the doghouse. Bill has generally been a good evaluator of defensive talent to I'll trust him here

Winovich wasn’t getting plying time here, so not a huge loss. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he got a good number of sacks this year.

In the right situation Winovich is a 10 sack guy. We just wanted him to play LB like it is 1994.

In all seriousness, this seems to make sense on the surface. Whatever you thought of Hightower and Bentley's play last year, they accounted for a lot of snaps at ILB that need to be replaced. Adding young competition there is a smart move, and Wino was likely mired in a group of edge players that are all in a similar boat as him (young and athletic but haven't proven anything yet).

With better NT and 5T it shouldn’t hurt to switch to faster LB
