Patriots Player Departure Chase Winovich traded for Mack Wilson

Uche is a beast and my binkie....lol, expect a big year from him!!!!!!!
I hyped him up after his preseason last year predicting at least 10 sacks, but I've moved on. He was really bad last year.

Jones wasn't great at edge setting but he could do it.
He was much better than people remember in that area. Never a guy you'd show to HS or college kids as teach tape but a lot better than given credit for. He could utilize his length but was like a baby deer when he first got here. All arms and legs, he had no idea what he was doing until a few years in.

Both teams look like potential winners here. Mack fits our style of defense and seems a little faster than what we have. Winovich seemed stuck in the doghouse, but I can easily see his potential with another team that doesn't mind his wild style of rushing the passer.

Winovich was going nowhere fast in New England but this Mack Wilson hasn't exactly set the NFL on fire. This probably will amount to a nothing trade, basically two teams ridding themselves of players they had no use for. We can put Winovich in the bad draft pick column.

That’s a mighty big column…

Yep… I would’ve preferred that Bill had traded Uche instead of Wino, who at least has some meat on his bones… Uche is a ****ing midget.
There's probably a joke in there somewhere that I completely missed but both are listed at 6-3, 250. It became evident the Patriots didn't know how to use Winovich or he just couldn't do what they asked of him. He'll probably have double digit sacks with Myles Garrett on the other side of that D-line in Cleveland. Uche's one year behind Winovich and he's a 2nd rd pick so you can't give up on that yet. Let's see what Uche can do when his snap count probably goes way up next season.

I forgot Wilson was the guy that hit Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs and made him not stand up very well.

His mom called Wilson evil lol

I like this trade a little more already...

What a bummer Wino was after his rookie year. I like this move, rather get a player and one that is seemingly a fit than a pick.

Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane
That's one of the funniest player descriptions ever, haven't seen this one in years.

Noted that Wilson had a lingering knee issue and considered retiring from the game in 2020.......lets see how he does.
Not really a lingering issue. He hyperextended his knee and missed some games. He then came back sooner than expected and sprained his shoulder.
He struggled in 2020 with the injuries yes, but mostly he struggled emotionally with a horse collar tackle on Chubb that gave him a concussion.
Here is full article about those events.

Good article , it does not look the same as the one I based my post on which did not mention the horse collar tackle. I will try and find it and post asap. However I would not be surprised if I got this totally wrong ....!

@SouthernPatriot ....please see attached. Even this report does not look like the one I initially read but it sort of uses the same language.

Anyway the report you posted looks more accurate and hopefully Wilson will prove to be a good player

Is it interesting how reporters take statements and present them in different light.
Being an Alabama alumni I follow former players and remember him having a rough 2020 that really started with the injury to Chubb.
Mack has matured a lot since his days at Bama. He should have come back for his senior year so he wouldn’t have been a 5th round pick. He was not a starter in his junior year, and was too immature to know he needed to stay another year.

Well, hopefully his injuries are a thing of the past and he can earn a place on the 53 man roster. He seems to be the type of LB the team is now looking for.
