Champ Bailey may be leaving Denver

Bailey would be a dream pickup. It would be totally awesome. He and McCourty would lock down the corners freeing up at least one safety for blitzes.

Bailey would change the whole defense for the better. It would become the pressure defense that we have all dreamed of. All of a sudden the Patriots would have a pass rush and guys would be making spectacular plays.

However I doubt that Skippy would let him go for reasonable value and he probably does not want to see him got to the Patriots.

We are NOT picking up Bailey, we are getting YOUNGER not older. We still have Bodden who is aging by the minute that we JUST signed to a long contract. Signing Bailey would put us even further back. McCourty has looked GREAT so far, Butler has looked fair considering the circumstances, and with he return of Bodden next year, there would be NO point on signing Champ Bailey to the team, if were so called "Looking towards the future".
EXACTLY! Thank you. lol

I don't buy this reasoning at all. Bailey would not to inhibit the development of the young CBs. That is silly; Bailey would mean having a dominant defense which is always better for the psyche of young developing CBs than getting toasted every week. McCourty could practice his craft against the number 2's while Butler/Arrington/Wheatley would have a more relaxed time against the 3's.

Also winning games helps a D and Bailey would mean winning more games. He is especially important now that the Krafts have decided to dump the best WR in the history of the game.

Alas there is no way the Denver give up Bailey for a 3. Only the Krafts are in fire-sale mode right now. Denver probably wants a 1 and a 3.

I never in a million years thought they would trade Moss midseason, so who knows? I'd love to see Champ a Pat. But I am gonna file this under pipe-dreams with the 10-15 others I have seen this week.

Bailey is 32, and is going to be looking for something like 5 years, 55M.

If you sign him, what the heck do you do with McCourty, Butler, Wheatley and Wilhite?

These guys need time to develope.

You're going to pass on Champ Bailey due to Wheatley or Wilhite? Did you notice they've fallen below Arrington on the depth chart? These guys will be the first cuts when the Pats cash in on next year's draft.

I'm down for this if it works out financially.

This trade would make more sense IMO then trading for another WR, we need a starting CB and we could really use his leadership on that side of the ball.

He's got alot left in the tank just ask D.Green some CB's can play till they're 40!

He's better then anything we got ATM on that side of the ball and he can teach the other young CB's as-well.

I would trade a 2nd,4th and a 3rd or 4th next year no questions asked.
