Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

This governorship role didn’t make any sense to me but I never thought it was going to last beyond the start of the season anyways. Whose idea was that to begin with?

There were some questions if Chistolm was going to get to 51% but he did so that's that

Whom did the Smeltics just release?

Women’s tennis and golf are fine to watch. Women’s figure skating, imo, is one of the most watchable sports. Gymnastics, swimming, volleyball, soccer, there’s a long list of women’s sports that men will watch without hesitation. Women’s basketball is ugly to watch, the skill dropoff makes it seem like this is a different sport altogether, and the other reasons given in this thread just amplify the problems. The wNBa and its advertisers continue to try to jam it into mainstream but it will never stick. It just isn’t fun to watch. Women are terrible at basketball compared to men. I don’t think a lot of these WNBA players could play for a community college men’s team or even some high school boys teams.
Sorry about the delay getting back to you.

Those sports that you mentioned are sports that I don't watch with men or women. And the WNBA should thank their lucky stars that Clarke came along. Instead they may end up chasing her away or even ending her career. It won't matter to me because I don't watch.

Only 2 months away…time flies…

I wanted to before but I thought it would be an overreaction

The WNBA has the dumbest bunch of professional athletes I've ever witnessed. What they're doing to their cash cow is pretty ludicrous & the fact that their referees are letting them do it is even more ludicrous.

When Clark's injuries take her out of the game and at the rate they're happening, it won't be long, they'll all go back to whining about how underpaid they are and why they can't get any recognition by the press & fans.

I repeat - Dumbest bunch of professional athletes out there.

Watch the ratings plummet back to "Isn't there something better on than that?".

First pre-season game last night...

I liked that they kept running. I guess now that they don't have Dr. Is0 for the season, they have to do something different. I also liked how Brown didn't back down when Williams tried taking him down by the arm.

No Pritchard or Queta. Pritchard got hurt in practice. Practice? You talking practice? Yeah, practice. Queta sitting due to "rest" is weird for the opener though. Does Mazzulla have them going at it too hard in practice?

Not having a real rebounder is not looking good already. They need to work on that. I wish they could've kept Kornet. I think his departure is going to hurt them a lot this year.

Am I the only one who thought Tillman was a lot older than 26?

Losing Kornet suuuuuucks, but happy he got his bag on a good team/franchise

One kindof has him pegged as a JAG who plays the role of a vet at the end of the bench for trash minutes and maybe gets thrown in as salary for a future trade - hence the "he must be 30 at least" - but yes, he's actually young enough to completely turn around his career and he's seen LOTS of his fellow teammates cash in.

Seems like he's motivated, dropping the weight etc. - willing to run with the team.

One wonders if they can keep up the running. Lots of guys are young enough to do it - but we've been there done that with Pitino and there are a lot more pro games than in college and the older guys can't quite keep it up.

Great if it happens though - shows they're not planning on tanking this season and maybe seeing where they are at the trade deadline and with Tatum's health. Will be interesting to see what Simmons brings to the table with lots of offense and a suspect D.

But Mazulla is going about it different than Pitino, with different groups that come in and out so they're always fresh. It is going to throw other teams off kilter for sure trying to keep up with them.

And if it's not working out by the trade deadline and there's no reason to rush Tatum, they'll jettison Simmons and others for draft picks and luxury tax savings to invest in the future

But if it works, Mazzula and Stevens will have added to their legacy nicely. Just nice to know that while we can't expect them to be as good as with Tatum, they're going to give us a good show this season. Given that it's not all that difficult to make it into the NBA playoffs these days, if Tatum actually can come back for the playoffs it's 0-0 for all the teams at that point.

When did Tatum, I mean the Celtics, sign Wendell Moore? I missed that one. Not that he's any good but I used to NEVER miss a C's transaction. Now,....I'm old I guess. He'll only get playing time if Simons is shipped out later this season if the team is in need (which it is now) of a big and Tatum comes back sooner than expected.

Al Horford signed with the Warriors. $5.685 Million for 2 years.

A few questions...

Why couldn't the Celtics have done this? They have a lot more space under the 2nd apron than the Warriors.

How were the Warriors not already on the 2nd apron with a cap number of $229 Million? If they were on the 2nd apron, the most they should've been able to pay Horford is $3.3 Million.

All said, I think big Al is not a good fit for this year's Celtics anyway.
