Celtics 2024-2025 Discussion

I'm thinking JT is shut down the rest of the way.. with the playoff starting in what a few weeks in April??
Mazzula won't let him play until he's 100%. No need for it, playoff seeding is already set.
But Tatum is very hard to keep off the floor. I'm sure he'll be badgering Joe to let him get some pt even before he's ready.
Another thing to like about JT.

Agreed that Dawgs mentality I questioned a few years ago in Jayson was dormant inside him. It's showing in his game this season.. he's to valuable to us and needs to be shut down. Let him rest, recover and get his treatment. When do playoffs begin?

Haven't looked it up but my guess is end of April. C's got what? about 10-11 games left, that'll take about 3-3/12 weeks.
C's 1st series prolly 1st week in May

Ok got it.. well I'd say at least give JT some time off.. those sprains last forever..we need him at full strength.. most likely drawing the 7th seed ?

Reports are his ankle injury is not serious. He should be good to go some playoff time.

I am not a fan of "resting before the playoffs". Limiting minutes, sure, but giving games off? Nope. It doesn't work in the NFL and it doesn't work in the NBA. Players play, and when they don't, they get rusty.

Look at Brown's stats last night after resting for two games - 9 points on 4/8 shooting (3 twos and 1 three). That's not his usual stat line.

Celtics City E4 was GREAT! Covers 1980-1983 Bird Era.

Good to hear from ML, Max, Danny, Robert, Kevin....and Larry.

I have enjoyed the series so far. I just wish it was a little bit more about the players and the team and a little bit less about everything else.

Agree. It kinda annoyed me that the took a good chunk of the Bird/Magic documentary from 2011 on HBO and didn't recreate it from scratch.

Baylor Scheierman is going to be a stud. He is getting more and more comfortable. You watch, people are going to ask how tf did they manage to get this All Star?

Cavs looking like playing 70 consecutive times with G7 energy has taken a toll. Not surprising. I’ve watched some of their most recent games. They’re playing their best guys…they just look tired.

I'm also curious if Pritchard's oblique muscle is OK. He appeared to pull it in the Trailblazers game when he went up for a layup while getting held down by his shoulder. He was grabbing it after that play and again in the Kings game last night. That is one of the main muscles for jumping, so hopefully it's not too bad.

Looks like I jinxed Pritchard, as this injury knocked him out of last night's game in San Antonio. They listed it as a hip injury but I still think it's his oblique, as he has grabbed that a few times since getting held down on a layup in Portland.

He was a little rusty last night.. but glad to see him back in. Hopefully Joe watches his minutes.. don't need him to reaggrivate the ankle
