Celtics 2024-2025 Discussion

Well this game turned around in a hurry
it what happens when you go back to your identity and play defense. This franchise (in my opinion) is built on playing strong defense and when they do, they cant be beat

Strong 1st quarter in Cleveland for the C's.
Dominated the Cavs 28-15. Playing strong defense and great energy. Long way to go but great start

Let's hope they don't relent on this lead.. Cleveland is a excellent team they can shrink a lead in no time.

That was a great defensive effort last night. They needed it given how poorly they shot the ball in the first half. I hope they keep it up, especially Saturday night against the Knicks, who may be a tougher opponent than the Cavs.

Am I the only one who thought something weird was going on in the 2nd quarter last night? The refs must've gotten a call between periods because they suddenly started calling touch fouls on the Cs and letting the Cavs hack away. It was really noticeable and helped the Cavs cut into the Celts lead. I'm happy that their efforts didn't flip the leader board but it was mainly because the Cavs couldn't seem to buy a bucket for most of the 1st half.

I still think that the foul they called on Hauser (and challenged by the Cs) was not a foul. How many times have we heard an announcer say, "Yeah, there was contact but it was after blocking the ball so they allow that"? Hauser got ball and then bumped the shooter. That should have been overturned. And then the Cavs' were successful with their challenge on a Brown drive to the hoop, which looked like an offensive foul until you realize that Niang was totally in the restricted area and was not eligible to get an offensive foul. You can't be in any part of the restricted area and jump into the defender's airspace, which is exactly what Niang did. This is also probably why Brown got the technical foul afterward.

Great road win by the best road team in the nba.
C's showed why they're the Champs.
They controlled this game wire to wire.
I'm proud of em.
Cs showed championship pedigree.. I'd still like us to do small move ahead of the deadline nothing crazy but maybe adding a 6'9 wing defender there can come off the bench and give us 8,10 points a game. Impressive they are the best road team in the league.

It showed they are still the best as long as they lock in on defense good things tend to follow.
Yep.

I said a few weeks ago it'll be like this for the remainder of the season. They'll take some nights off an look like absolutely dog poop (see 1st 1/2 he Philly). Then when the game has some meaning, they'll play tough D and rebound well.

CLE is no joke.....but they aren't as talented or battle-tested as us.

Yup, it wasn't like one of those gradual comebacks where they just keep chipping away. They were down 26 near the end of the 3rd.
