Celtics 2024-2025 Discussion

I notice that they're using their throwback white unis for the first two games of this road trip. It'll be interesting to see if they have them again tonight. Maybe they're seeing that those electric green unis are a bit of a jinx too?

Yo, @Real fan 02:
Your boy Springer had himself a night last night. We all know he's a great defender but his offense showed up with a couple treys. If he continues to improve his offense, kid will be a regular in the rotation.
I agree! I'm glad Joe is putting him in more and allowing him to play.. he's a young player and he's developing well. His perimeter defense will be heavily relied upon as the season wears on.

Problems all around but Jrue & DWhite have not been the reliable safety nets we had last season. I wouldn’t say Tatum and Brown have been covering themselves in glory either (effort-wise) but the back court has been weak for two months.

Wish these guys hadn’t played in the Olympics.

Porzingis has been the C's best player for at least the past week.
Loss to Lakers was somewhat predictable.
C's were playing a back to back, coming off an OT game. Lakers were home and well-rested.
Boston looked tired. It was ugly.
But in the grand scheme, game doesn't mean much.
Big difference between playing a single regular season game and a 7 game playoff series. C's have always risen to the occassion in recent years in playoffs.
The more talented team wins 99% of playoff series. After a few games, both teams know exactly what the opponent can, will and cannot do. So talent and energy are what counts. Plus, a coach like Mazzula is at his best in this situation. No need to panic, y'all.
They'll be fine. Sky ain't falling.

Good effort tonight by everyone. Keep on keepin' on.

A win is a win, but last night's didn't feel like one. I don't know why, but it felt more like a Dallas loss.

For one thing, Dallas missed a bunch of easy layups. If they hit those, the game is a lot closer in the end. The Mavs were also getting the benefit of quite a few one-way ticky-tack calls early on... and that was with Dončić sitting on the sidelines. I think the refs initially forgot he wasn't playing. They seemed to figure it out by the middle of the 2nd quarter.

I didn't turn game on until 230 left in 3rd.
Forgot they were playing.
They've played hard since I've been watching.

Two completely blown defenses on the last two possessions, nice

Tough game. Thompson and Brooks had career games.

I’m a defense first guy but even still I think Pritchard has surpassed Jrue in overall value.
Not sure what it is with Jrue. I’m hoping he can be right by the playoffs. The energy level is not the same as it was last year consistently. And it’s a make or miss league, and the shooting has not been as strong. Brown also seems to me maybe a little stiff? He’s more jacked I don’t know if that’s playing a part.

Overall I think they’ll be fine, it’s a January game.

Kornet was baffling on the last play
Kornet was supposed to give the foul like he did (maybe a second too quickly?). Then I imagine Brown was supposed to switch with him but Brown was sleeping on the switch? Kornet ran over to switch with Brown. That is all I can guess. There is no way the plan was to leave Kornet all alone at the top of the key. At least I can't imagine that was our clever defensive plan.
