Celtics 2024-2025 Discussion

2nd half adjustments needed

-Point guards playing point guard

-More Queta (only player positive an he’s +9)

-Horford should be first pass at top of key and offense should involve him much more

Fat Slob Perkins is about to blow his load

Tbh this is one of the most entertaining Celtics games in the last few years. Both teams playing with playoff intensity. White and Holiday are bring forced into the alpha scoring roles with Tatum being swarmed.

Great game. Too bad the incompetent asshat (if not corrupt) refs continue to call bs reputation fouls to award three key points to the Celtics opponents. The ref should be tarred and feathered for upholding that White / Curry foul which changed the momentum of the game.

I stopped watching. You can tell missing Brown hurts quite a bit.

They had won like 15 straight without him with huge margins, but this is one opponent where his absence was obviously missed a lot. They needed a guy who can beat the Warriors finesse lineup and power to the paint and didn’t have it. Horford was pretty good in that role but not enough. In addition, JB’s defense would have made a big difference in crunch time.

Still a monumental game from Queta.

Warriors front office is incredible. Fortunately for us, we don’t play in the West because there’s so many legit contenders there.

Steph is the best basketball player of his era. People can argue with a wall. I don’t care. No other basketball player has a greater impact on winning games with leadership, space creation, and consistent clutch play. LeFraud might have all the stats in the world but I’d take Steph every time to build a team around.

Knicks are 3-4

D White is -11. What happened.
Warriors happened, I guess. That’s a 7-1 team with a +15 differential, plus they got a lot of key plays from unexpected guys.

I guess you really hated Larry Bird then. He was the king at creating contact to get to the line.
Tiny Archibald was the king of drawing contact with the big guys while he put in layups.

Simple always wins. Thats true of every sport.
One of the most underrated all-time greats players is John Havlicek.
He was a dominant and efficient offensive player and a dominant and efficient defensive player. He's easily still a top 20 player all-time. So much recency bias. I'd take Havlicek in a heartbeat over Kevin Durant. And I like KD.
Bill Russell was the same way. And Tim Duncan.
DWhite reminds me of Havlicek in many ways. Hes not quite on Havlicek's level but many similarities in their games.

Sorry for going on and on about this but this is one the very most important athletic traits of truly great players:
NO WASTED MOTION!!!Every single move you make on a court, a field,an arena or a ring has to be the quickest most efficient and surest way of getting the job done.
It's easier said than done but its,a hallmark of every truly great athlete.
Works in life,too.

That’s the DWhite’s best attribute. He’s always moving, all the time, and he’s always moving with purpose. Mix that IQ and motor with incredible quickness, change of direction, recovery, acceleration, and jumping ability, and you have a generational defensive player, despite not having a standout body type that would separate him from others.

Forgot to mention: very proud of JT’s effort against Warriors in second half. Played like an MVP despite the loss. A lot more patience, trust in teammates, let the game come to him.

Brown is out again tonight. Injury report says he’ll be back next game. If he misses next game, I wonder if this will be an extended issue.

Hope not but better early in tge season than later. Don't rush. Get to 100%.
It's a Marathon not a sprint.
We need JB in May/ June at 100%.
Same with KP or really, any of the top 6 guys

This is a clown show tonight. Who are these guys? They aren't the Celtics, thats for sure.
