"Career game for Arrington"

Re: "Career game for Arrington".

He played well. Someone on the board predicted that Meriweather would be seeing most of the Moss action because he's physical. It didn't hurt that he had safety help over the top all game long. I really like what the kid is doing. He'll never be a shutdown guy or anything like that, but he's definitely solid and will hold things down until Butler can get his act together . . . hopefully.

Arrington played his best game for the Patriots today.

Re: "Career game for Arrington".

Pats are 5-0 since Arrington replaced Butler in the starting lineup.

Re: "Career game for Arrington".

2 years out of Hofstra; was rated the 68th best cornerback in the draft; was waived by 2 different teams, and even cut from the Eagles' practice squad. Now he's starting and blanketing Randy Moss.

Congrats, Kyle.

Sounds like Wes Welker's college/early pro resume except on defense !

Hell, I was impressed. I've been one of Arrington's tougher critics on here, but he acquitted himself well against Moss. The play where Meriweather had to foul Moss to save the TD was on a corner blitz. I still worry about his quickness though; Moss doesn't run a lot of different routes.

Re: "Career game for Arrington".

The bonus is Arrington hits like a ton of bricks, and they take their toll on the other team's wide receivers.

Patriots Football Weekly was all over this guy. While many had Arrington not making the 53 man roster, PFW seemed to mention each week how strong his cover skills were during training camp.

He's not bad stopping the run either.

There was one play where he had a solo tackle, I think it was on Peterson, and I said to myself there would be no way Butler makes that tackle.

Re: "Career game for Arrington".

I had him as a lock for the team basically as soon as last season ended, but that was just because he was such a stud on special teams. I had no idea that he'd be a starter as well!

Re: "Career game for Arrington".

No disrespect but how can you have a career day when he played ZERO man coverage. Both corner had help with Moss the entire day.

Solid day but nothing special.

Re: "Career game for Arrington".

He had a "career day" because this was the best performance of his career. Why is that difficult to understand?

He's playing well... hopefully he gets better.

So a corner has to play man coverage to have a career day ? Thats going to be very upsetting news to all the zone corners in the NFL.

That's a career day for Mr. Arrington.

I think Arrington has passed Butler on the depth chart at this point and I don't think Darius is going to catch him, IMHO. Arrington looks a little better every week.

Because he was covering Moss. Everyone needs help with that assignment, up to and including Revis.

He held Moss to one catch today.

Neither Revis or Cromartie even accomplished that, and they had safety help over the top!
