I would take a player at any position w/ better talent than player x who is less gifted and does not have that superior talent. Talent pertains to every athlete...... it separates the 4.3's from the 4.7's to the 5.3's.... Talent can take a wide array of forms. Do you think ppl who have great hands is just an accident???? Mav it is all about genetics.... sure these guys are all professionals... but there is a wide discrepancy of talent in the NFL...... I believe the PATS lack a great deal of superior talent on the defensive side of the football.
Of course talent is important, it's just not as important as it is in other major pro sports.
Look at the league, the top 6 teams are all pretty much equally talented, especially with the salary cap. The differences are in the coaching. The Chargers would probably have 2 rings this decade if Belichick were their coach instead of Norv.
