Can KC go 19-0?

He rolled out to his right, looking toward the sideline to his right and then hit Kelce to his left, who was barely in his peripheral vision. I looked at my wife and said "man this guy is something else". It was only a gain of 7 or so, but it kept the drive alive.
This is going to go over like a fart in church on this board... but eh... You ask 100 football insiders Prime Brady or Mahomes? 90 would say

as long as the chiefs are always playing 18 vs 11 on every play, there will be a strong chance the chiefs go undefeated.

There's no doubt that Mahomes is special, but the overall resume of Brady is superior. 7 is still more than 3. Or 4. No doubt 3 in a row and 4 overall would put him in the discussion. I have a hard time over all this. Mahomes' greatness does not diminish Brady's. He sure is fun to watch, the things he does indeed are special. I don't have to pick one or the other. Brady's greatness didn't diminish Montana's accomplish. The only one who's diminished is Manningface. Eff him.

They may finish 18-1

2024 Chiefs point differential after eight games: +56
2007 Pats point differential after eight games: +204

Once again, this Chiefs team is much more like the 2019 Patriots.

I know I will get flamed. But if they go 20-0, with a threepeat, it's going to be near impossible to argue against Mahomes being the GOAT.
I wouldn't go that far, but there would a genuine argument to be made on both sides, probably forever. I still think that Larry Bird was the NBA's greatest player and that Bobby Orr was the GOAT among hockey players. I'm happy to argue the point, but there's no way, frankly, that either I or my adversary is going to become convinced the other's view.

can you imagine babe Ruth retiring and people saying we’ll never see that again and as soon as he retires another guy comes in and 1 ups him right away?

But I do thing there’s strong bias by the NFL to make this happen.

7-4=3. For the first three, Brady was not the main weapon of the team and I conceded that in my post.

I just think it is way to early to crown Mahomes, especially when he is having a very bad season DESPITE his team being undefeated.
You're complaining about the KC defense carrying Mahomes to his 4th Super Bowl.

Makes no sense.

So, Mahomes isn't scoring points to win? Last Suoer Bowl I thought that I watched Mahomes drive the KC offense into the red zone and score a TD to win.

I remember being pissed off that the 2009 Colts and 2015 Panthers had a shot at going undefeated. My reasoning was that those two teams, just like the 2024 Chiefs, are no where near the dominance that was the 2007 Patriots.

If another team is going to go undefeated, they should at least come close to the 2007 Patriots dominance.

2007 Patriots: 19.7 MOV (highest by a team in Super Bowl era)

2009 Colts: 6.8 MOV (10.4 MOV when they were 14-0 prior to “resting starters”)

2015 Panthers: 12.0 MOV

2024 Chiefs: 7.0 MOV

It’s going to be an absolute joke if this team goes undefeated.
I can still see the stunned faces of Jeff Saturady and PEDton Manning when Polian had them benched. Days later he used the Pats' failure in 07 as the reason but the real reason was so they could help get the Jets into the playoffs instead of the Steelers, who had Indy's number as much as the Pats. It almost worked but PEDton threw a pick 6 to end the SB.

Yes, Only games I see them possibly losing barring injury are Broncos/Bills/Chargers. they will likely be favored in all 3 though.

Plus Brady did more with average offensive weapons and questionable OL than any QB in history of NFL

Mahomes and Reid winning three in a row might put them in contention for one of the best dynasty runs, if not the best dynasty run (I dunno about best 'dynasty' overall) but I still think there's a ****load of distance between who's the GOAT QB. Mahomes is actually looking more mortal as Brady became more and more great. And just went to another team and won one lmao like that's absurd. And humiliated Mahomes in the process.

It's obviously been very popular to refer to our run as 2 dynasties and if we go with that logic than absolutely a 3peat (plus their first 1) would be the best.

It's so easy to become the "Well, but..." crowd that everyone was with Brady haha, as I'm sitting here thinking "Well the league sucks now! Not as good! Therefore ours is more impressive" lmao.

But yeah I mean if they threepeat it's pretty hard to argue against it.

I don't want to be Shula and Mercury either so props to the Chiefs if they can pull it off.

The mediocrity of the OL overall is very underrated around here. Brady's footwork and decisive decision making disguised how pedestrian the line was.

That's a good precis of the other side of the argument. Barring some sudden decline in Mahomes' health, skills or circumstance, I suspect it'll be close enough in the end that beery arguments about it all will go one for generations.
