Can Brady hit 50? and I don't mean Vrabel...

Just want to add a prediction for kicks. I am not convinced we will truly air it out every game. Therefore, I'm saying 28 or 29 is likely in my opinion.

thats true, I forgot to add another poster noted that we could run the ball more in some games as oposed to others...keep teams on their toes...

Thanks Phoenix!

PD.

I would be estatic if he had 30-35,I beleive any more than that is a pipe dream. The reasons are many, and have been stated before, such as Indy's poor defence two years ago,but the main reason IMO ,is they will try for a balanced offence which is, as you know, the most difficult to defend...

About a week ago I tried starting a thread that dreamily predicted Brady to throw for 43 TD's just for the sake of conversation. Coincidentally, it saw about 6 responses and spontaneously combusted. Anyways, 43 was a bit exaggerated, but I do believe that 35 TD's is very possible!

1. I like Maroney in the backfield, but I am still not convinced until I see him play and know that his "injuries" (shoulder, and ribs) are not a concern, therefore causing the Pats to add more passing to the offense.

2. I just don't buy the old adage that BB doesn't like to play this kind of football. He is the best in the game, and therefore will adjust accordingly and use his football team the best way he can. If it calls for an aggressive offense, then he will do it.

3. The last I checked. The Patriots have one of the best QB's in his prime now throwing to a group of WR's made up of at least one or two guys capable of making the Pro Bowl.

If healthy, there is no way this team just sits on leads especially after the way we got our ***ES handed to us in the 2nd half of the AFCG!

I'd rather Brady get 28 Tds and let Maroney and the D score 50 between them.

i think morrony might have 20 td and brady 30

I would like to see him throw at least 32. The Pats record is 31, held by Babe Parilli in 1964 (14 games). Grogan, Bledsoe and Brady (twice) are tied for 2nd with 28.

Re: Can Brady hit 50? and I don't mean Vrable...

I'd be elated if he hit 40. An air attack like that, along with a solid ground game from Maroney & co. - now that would be a thing of beauty...

Yup. I'd be happy with 4,000+ and 40+ TDs. 50 is a pretty lofty goal.
Besides, the Pats don't have as many creampuffs on their schedule this year like the Colts did so 50 is gonna be really hard anyway you look at it.

maybe we should lower the expectations a little....maybe Brady will hit 30 TD passes for the first time in his career

Came across this goodie from the classic files so I had to bumpity bump it up

To let the pessimist off thehook remember this was posted BEFORE spygate and the revenge of the Pats tour.....

I didn't respond to this earlier but I meant to say that he would have a good shot at 60 - honest

Ok, I will put this to the board for dissection:

With our plethora of newly stocked receiving core what are the possibilities of #12 throwing 50 TDs this season to top Laser-rocket-arm commercial-boy? Now before you start to think I am driving the Homer bus out of Foxboro, In all realm of possibility?

PD.

This has to go down as one of the greatest threads in the history of underestimation. Reading this list of comments, now in November with the team shredding teams and records makes all of us look like the worlds biggest anti-homers.

You have to admit it is pretty funny.

Yup...pretty funny in that context..NO WAY will it happen...Now, its on pace for even more...incredible what can happen in a few months..

Eh, you're crazy. Moss will be a cancer in that lockerroom.

I predict, Brady will be lucky to have 25 TD's with that over the hill gang of Moss, "I'm Always Hurt" Stallworth, Gaffney and "Who the hell is this midget" Welker.

The one to look for is Kelly Washington. He's the one gem in that group who can be a real receiving weapon.

I also predict that Brandon Meriwether will be our starting safety by the fourth week. He's a huge upgrade over James Sanders.

this is classic.

no disrespect to the naysayers or anything. Just goes to show how phenominal a season New England is having. Sure, today we expect 5 TDs every game but important to remember that not too long ago that certainly was not the case.

Enjoy it everyone.

Funny - I was actually thinking about these old pre-season discussions.

Someone predicted this would be Brady's legacy year with him approaching Manning-like TD numbers... I said if that was the case it was a bad thing because he would have NEEDED to throw that many TDs... and that we needed to have a more balanced offense

I never suspected we could have a balanced offense AND see him averaging 5 TDs

In my own defense though, I did say in the pre-season that this team was "built to go after the perfect season". I didn't actually predict a perfect season back then... and in fact I joked after losing a pre-season game that we'd blown our shot at a truly perfect season... but I recognized that BB was indeed building a team capable of dominating each and every game.

Unlike many of the "talking heads" out there, I actually felt and predicted this team would go 19-0 just after Spygate came to light, knowing that the team would pull together just like they did.

There's still a long way to go but hopefully I'll truly be able to say "I told you so"
