Camp surprise cut 2024

No. Mapu isn't getting cut. He's a hybrid can play LB/safety. He's a prototype of what today's NFL athletes are. He was a rook last year and played well down the stretch. He's an ascending young player and he will have a big role in the defense. He can cover backs out the back, he excellent in blitz packages, he can spy running QBs as well. He will be good. For us.
Real, Mapu popoo better become a player and I don't mean on ST's. You don't draft those guys in the Third. We passed on a lot of good prospects for him.

Pretty sure they can't cut Strange unless it's with an Injury Settlement. He's likely to be put on the IR at some point.
You guys are running out of excuses for that future Hofer.

I heard the plan was for Mapu to replace Dugger in prototypical BB style, because no one ever gets a second contract. Now that Wolf resigns everyone, it makes for a very confusing situation at Safety.

I don't get the pick but it's all BB I bet Mapu was very articulate in interviews: because the football field is a debating society.

Brady, Seymour, Wilfork, Gronk, DMC, Mankins, Chung, Cannon and about a hundred others guys got a second contract and many paid near top of the market at their respective positions… where do you guys come up with this stuff?

He’ll be put on the PUP to start the season.

The notion that he’d be in danger of being cut if fully healthy is pure mouth breather nonsense, he’d be locked in as a starter… just like the Patriots brass said they considered him and Onwenu as “incumbent starters” months ago.

Did you watch any of his college tape, did you watch the senior bowl or read anything about his coaches there?

He stood out there, among the best of the college best… he didn’t appear out of nowhere.

I hope for your sake he grasps the Defense he was a healthy scratch many times last year. Will be interesting to see how Mayo and Wolf views him.

Oh without a doubt brother.. you know you and I speak the same patriots language.. lol.. I was just eluding to that he's got upside and I believe he should be used in the spot Mack Wilson was last season. You feel me.?

If Strange does end up on IR I hope they work out an injury settlement and move on. I want to see the recent mistakes off the roster.

The IBBWT lemmings are still making up ways to justify the selection IR Hofer in the making here.

Who's the hundred other guys?... the contracts done this off season as Curran reported hadn't been done in this fashion since Pete Carroll era...

He was a rookie playing behind great defenders. He played the 7th most special teams snaps on the team.

He was also active for all 17 games last year, don’t know where you’re getting your inactive information.

Curran is a BB hating clown, nobody is reveling in him being gone more. BB didn’t pay anyone… except the hundreds he did, makes sense.

Curran actually has a good relationship with bill.. he and Bill vacationed together he knows Bill intimately. If there is anyone more tied in to the organization and Bill it's Tom E. Curran. Bill of course did extend players however the players drafted by him to not see 2nd contracts here is jarring.

All those players mentioned are retired. Some not even recently.

I'm certainly are not a fan of all these re-signings, but there's a reason why many Patriots draft picks didn't get a 2nd contract and that was because they were either bad or replaceable. They only few players that were worthy of 2nd contracts, but didn't get them were Chandler Jones, Deion Branch, David Givens, Asante Samuel, and Joe Thuney. Jamie Collins can also be argued as he was coming off an All Pro year before being traded in 2016.

That's not really a lot of guys in 24 years.

With Josh Uche and Kyle Dugger both mentioned in trade rumors, a relevant stat about the Patriots' draft history:
From 2014-19, NE selected 19 players in Rounds 1-3, and none of them signed a second contract with the team. Zero.
The five years before that? 18 picks in R1-3, and five got second contracts. Plus Jamie Collins, who was traded and then returned.

Funny stuff.

When you win for two decades coach and player value gets inflated. You can’t pay everyone.
