.. maybe the worst defensive catcher in the league.

Set a record 6 passed balls by him. It didn't matter who pitched to him, he had passed balls from 3 different Sox pitchers.

There were also indications he didn't know what signals to use to call the pitches. In addition to poor hand-eye coordination, he may not have even gotten the signals right, which may explain why he was in the wrong position so often.

I agree that he is garbage but they were wild pitches. Dice K bounced one about 7 feet in front of the plate, not his fault.

When a catcher misses pitches from THREE different pitchers, it's the catcher.

Kottaras is used to catching slow knucklers and slow fastballs from Wakefield. He's not an MLB-caliber catcher for other pitchers.

We desperately need to sign Mauer next year! No ifs, ands, or buts!

Mauer isn't a free agent until after 2010. If you want him next year, you'll have to trade for him.

There were 6 Wild Pitches. Not passed balls.

One of the ones thrown by Daisuke didn't even reach the dirt. It bounced on the infield grass.

That, and in 2010, hes going to be playing first base. His knees are gone.

Not when the ball is hitting the ground 5 feet in front of the plate.

Why let facts get in the way of his witch hunt?

They are discussing Dice-K's problems last night on this afternoon's pregame show- nowhere in there is Kottaras being blamed for them, all were on Dice-K.

Kottaras has had troubles with catching the knuckle ball(everyone has) but this is the first time anyone has complained about him catching a normal ball...one bad game on the PITCHERS(three of them) and he gets to be the new whipping boy

Some fans would rip apart their own kids if they had nobody else to cry foul about

Give the guy a chance, we get so serious after a week of someone not being an all-star

your threads are all garbage. from youk shouldnt be hitting forth to doc rivers is a lousy coach:rolleyes:

Doc is still a bad schematic coach and can't manage minutes. The fact he won a championship shows on in basketball, 5 on 5, having the dominant players is more important than coaching (compared to say football and the NFL).

Kottaras is still garbage. Watch him catch. In addition to not being able to have any defensive abilities as a catcher, he also frames pitches horribly. Any pitcher he catches, who throws pitches on the corners, gets a horrible frame from Kottaras.

lmao:D your very amusing. i thought it was hilarious when you said you know doc is a bad coach because you go to alot of games lol. that's pure genius lol. the fact doc won a ring shows you dont know sh!t. kottaras some how made it to the big leagues so that makes him far from garbage.

Why am I arguing with someone who doesn't even know the difference between "your" and "you're"...

Kottaras made it to the MLB catching Wakefield's slow fastballs and knuckler. He can't hit and he can't play defense. Anyone playing in the big leagues can't be garbage? OK good to know that you can't criticize any pro athlete ever, otherwise it makes you a hypocrite.

blah blah . whatever you say coach lmao. :D you should go to a spelling board and post there. you really seem to know your sh!t when it comes to punctuation and proper spelling. when it comes to sports you just embarrass yourself on a regular basis.

It's easy to evaluate sports from your point of view, since anyone who makes it to the pros is immune to criticism. I'd like to see you stay consistent with that, insano.

that would be true if your statement was accurate but like all your garbage you are again wrong.

If my statement was accurate? Go read your own posts agin.

You're the genius who said just because someone is a pro athlete, they can't be garbage.

Maybe you're not smart enough to understand the words you type.

He's been taught NOT to frame pitches. His main duty is catching WAKE.

As to not being able to hit, hes had 45 at bats. Thats NOTHING. Pedroia hit .191/258/303 in his first 100 at bats. Kottaras has hit 205/275/318 in 45 at bats. The guy raked in the minors, hitting 270/370/460. Making any sort of judgement on 45 at bats is the height of ignorance.
