BTW, TFB's Not So Subtle Point for Gronk in the MMQB Interview Pt.2

Brady specifically dissing Gronk there? I dunno... seems like a...

...stretch.

I think that remark is just a statement of fact. Not sure it was directed at anyone in particular. Edelman and Amendola have missed time the last few years as well.
But they're not big, muscular guys. Brady was specifically talking about training for flexibility over strength and bulk.
That said, I also think it's a bit of a stretch to call it a dig at Gronk.

When I first read it I thought he could be talking about Edelman last year. If you watch the SoundFX video of the super bowl, it's unbelievable the abuse he takes on the field. He gets the **** kicked out of him on every play.

This is a writer who's putting 2 not really related things together to make a point. It's a good point, but Brady was clearly talking about his own conditioning and not throwing jabs at anybody.

If TB12 thinks Gronk needs to train differently, he doesn't have to go through the media to get that point across. It isn't even slightly in TB12's character to out his friends and teammates to the media in that way, so even if the point is valid on the face of it, clearly the media guy is leaping to a conclusion here.

I couldn't imagine being Brady and having everyone prospecting for slights in every single thing I said.

Say flexibility is important? Dig at Gronk.

Thank your family after the AFCCG? Dig at Rodgers.

I honestly wouldn't do interviews anymore, if I were him.

You just can't win. Then if he strays away from interviews you got media peeps whining about how "unrelatable" he is and how you never can get access to him anymore.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I am all for training smart and looking for new approaches. That said, Gronk had a blown-out knee, a broken arm and a bad back he has had for years. I could see about flexibility and his hamstring issues - but many of his injuries have nothing to do with being pliable.

If you read Curran's article - it points out how Edelman started going to Brady's regimen a couple of years ago and it made all the difference in the world for his durability. Same with Amendola after his disastrous first year with the Pats.

That is not Brady's style. I think he is talking about himself and that is it.

Read the Curran column? Look who he also mentioned - - the guy who FIRST found Guerrero and brought him to TFB - - Willie Mac, who credits the new regiment for changing him from being a "pulled muscle a week" player.

It is getting absurd. I thought the SB and the circumstances would make people appreciate him more - boy, was I wrong.

Well, Jules still missed seven games last year and Danny missed five this year, so...

Really?

“If you’re a receiver, and you have a great game, say you have eight catches,” Brady explained. “And you play eight games a season and you're hurt the other eight. Eight catches times eight games is 64. That's a below-average season for any receiver. If you play 16 games with an average of eight catches you're an All-Pro."

When Edelman does not break bones, he is available.

Sorry for the bad wording about "Dig" - - I was in a coffee shop and was typing quickly. I'll edit the title.

It was a pointed reference.
