how many concussions have it been?

hopefully there is someone better than andrews. he is serviceable but it seemed like he got overwhelmed by larger linemen last year.

A lot. He had them in college too.

Come on, there's got to be someone out there just dying to post a 'play through it you wimp' or a '****ification of america' type post. I'm bored.

Oline heavy 2017 draft. Need at least 2 starters

To my knowledge, this is number 4 in his pro career. Which has been very short. In comparison, Wes Welker has had 4 in a much longer career. Still bad, but very infrequent. Hopefully Stork takes it all into consideration.

Kidding aside, it's a strange thing. When was the last one? I think the science is that the chemical changes from a concussion makes another more likely for up to a year. Although who knows, it's probably not certain, best to hang them up probably.

Weird to be retired in your 20's, but most of these guys are done in their 30's, so not that different I guess.

(I suspect, sadly, I'll have to work until I'm dead.)

I wouldn't say he should play through it. And let me make this clear first his situation seems bad and might not fall into my next category.

But I wonder if the public is way over blowing concussions, specifically if we don't ignore them and make sure guys are fully healed from them before playing again might that be a drastically different situation then the past and might these guys not be at the same risk as the past?

Ignoring CTE the way the NFL did is reprehensible and criminal. That said I have to imagine not ignoring it and not playing through them should make for a much better post career life even if guys still wind up with multiple in their careers.

Yeah I uh, wasn't looking for a reasonable opinion, bud.

This guy played so well in his first year and then just became a vegetable out of nowhere.

Not sure how you get "out of nowhere". He had concussion issues in college and he's had a concussion each year with the Pats..

It would seem that Stork suffered yet another concussion.. For his safety, someone needs to step in and tell him that he's done. I love how he plays, but his health is more important..

I believe you but where did your read this?

If accurate he needs to call it a career. My god.

It came out when he had the concussion issue last year and that it was his 2nd concussion with the Pats..

By my count, it's at least 5 as he had a couple in college..

EDIT:

NESN is saying it's his 4th in 4 years, However, I found out that Stork also had one in 2013.
Patriots’ Bryan Stork Reportedly Sidelined With Fourth Concussion In Four Years

That is adding up quick. He should be on PUP at a minimum, not even knowing the severity of this one. Is there such a thing as a "small" concussion vs "large"? He probably should IR'ed and re-evaluated next year.

He shouldn't even be playing football - period. Five concussions already and he's not even three full years into his pro career. Plus he plays the most consistently violent position in all of football. He should retire.
