Re: Randy's Return to Foxboro

And they wonder what's wrong with this new age fan base... This thread just underscores it.

Moss is gone because he didn't want to be a team first player. Screw him.

And anyone who doesn't give the fradulent warrior drama queen what he deserves for making a mockery out of the game for selfish reasons for the last decade should switch to another sport. Even Packers fans knew when to move on and treat him like what he is and they actually owed him a little something for not throwing away their lone SB on his watch. He cared more about not going out the hero on his last trip to the home of the team he tortured than he did about the Viqueens season going down the crapper. And I think his pathetic teamates are finally grasping the fact that this is what they begged and groveled for...

Isn't it ironic and fitting that Moss is probably going to play out the year in obscurity on a team going nowhere fast behind its even higher maintenance, drama queen QB, and dopey coach?

Re: Randy's Return to Foxboro

I'm okay with cheering for Randy when he's announced so long as we boo him mercilessly every time he touches the ball. As a visitor, he should expect nothing less.

I'm sick of Favre. He's not a warrior. He's a selfish egotistical jerk. Imagine if we had to send 3 captains on Kraft's plane to some player's house to get him to come play for us. Would you be thrilled to have him on your team? In the ultimate team sport, Favre is the ultimate attention-whore.

And not that anyone brought it up but screw Childress too. Seriously, he's always whining and crying about something. Players adopt their coach's attitude, and that's why the Vikings are such a whiny little team.

This coming from a guy who's username is "MoLewisRocks". That = 0 credibility or reliability to me.

Re: Randy's Return to Foxboro

50 TD's = Big ovation. :rocker:

This is the perfect post

Re: Randy's Return to Foxboro

I'd cheer for him when he's announced. He scored 50 touchdowns in 52 games wearing silver, white, and blue. Mr. Randall did a lot for this team/organization.

Besides, we'll never know if Moss forced his way out or if the org made a decision. Moreover, other players have shot their way out of town and been forgiven before (Deion Branch, anyone). Lighten up.

EDIT:
I hope Favre gets booed. He beat us in '96, quarterbacked the Jets against us, and has done nothing but drag his team down this year and refuse to accept blame for his actions.

Re: Randy's Return to Foxboro

I hope the best for Randy in the remainder of his career and I also hope he gets a nice ovation before the game. Nobody should boo him at all during the game, but people should just see him as we see every other player on the opposing team. It also sucks for Randy because he isn't going to get far on the Vikings IMO.

Favre on the other hand should be booed and at any point where the focus is on Childress, he should also be booed. I used to like Favre and I still appreciate him but his time is up. Childress is just a jackass.

Re: Randy's Return to Foxboro

I will be disgusted if the fans don't give him a royal Patriot welcome back my friend greeting when he is introduced.

I will be disgusted if the fans don't boo him mercilessily if the bastard catches a TD or another big pass against our beloved Pats.

In this NFL Live video above, ESPN analysts Tedy Bruschi and Mark Schlereth talk about what kind of reception Randy Moss should receive when he returns to New England with the Vikings on Sunday afternoon.

“I don’t think there should be any question on how the New England fans react to the return of Randy Moss,” Bruschi said. “I think you get up out of your seats and give him a standing ovation because when he was here he performed admirably for this organization. He caught a lot of touchdown passes, almost delivered a world championship.

“He was nothing but a good teammates while he was there. It doesn’t matter how he left and all of the speculation. When he was there, he did his work and he performed well for this team. So you get up and give him a little bit of love, New England.”

What kind of reception do you think Moss will get Sunday? Seventy-eight percent of respondents to an ESPNBoston.com poll say they'd cheer Moss on Sunday.

Wise words.

50 TD's = Standing Ovation. Period

It's the Johnny Damon or Adam Vinitieri rule.....as long as you don't go to the enemy you get cheered when you return.

He got plenty of love while he was here. It wasn't what he wanted. Life is all about choices.

50 TD's = Standing Ovation. Period

Why??? It was HIS CHOICE to leave and HIS CHOICE to create a stink before leaving. He's not coming back here a hero, he's coming back to beat us. Nobody cheered louder for Randy while he was here, but that's over. I won't boo him, but I'm not cheering him ever again.

Maybe Randy and Deion can discuss the whole grass is greener thing. Perhaps TO has some outlook on being wanted, money, and perceived value.

Frankly, I wouldn't be shocked if he was back next year. We could use a deep threat and I don't see a huge contract waiting after the balance of the year in Minnesota.

I'll be real upset if the fans boo Randy. Imagine 2008 if Brady went down AND we didn't have Moss. That year would have been a complete train wreck.

I would suggest to the, "Randy made his own bed" contingent consider that he stated publically that he wished to stay with the team. However, it cannot be overlooked that the FO made the decision that:

A) He wasn't worth what he wanted. OR
B) Did not want to pay him now as they felt the market for his services be small OR
C) Made the Mo Vaughn contract offer which was publically showing him love but coming in way below what he wanted or was worth in the market.

It has been documented that BB approached Randy is TC and asked if he wanted to talk about a new deal. Randy told him that he'd prefer to wait until after the season. Now, we don't know why Randy said that. Did the Pats already make and offer and was it insulting enough for Randy just go into 2011 and be a FA? Since he publically said that he wants to be here, that is my assumption.

I'm not going to get into the "he tanked it" in MIA on purpose or "pulled a Manny" and shot his way out of town by underperforming or got into it with O'Brian since no one knows for sure. But in the end, the FO and Randy just agreed to disagree and for that, he does not deserve to be booed. He had some GREAT seasons her. It just didn't work out.

I will be there. Standing ovation no doubt. I expect to see lots of Moss jerseys as well. I'll bring mine, probably let my friend wear it. Once the game is on, business as usual. I don't see any reason to specifically boo Favre either. He is a legend and people would be singing a different song if Harvin could toe tap, or the refs didnt f up the visanthe TD.

I agree. I will be there too and give a standing ovation for Moss as well. I do agree with not boo'ing Favre. There is no reason too. He is a warrior and should be respected by all fans of the game for his performances on the field.

You people do realize that Favre has directly and indirectly cost the New England Patriots Super Bowl wins right? He has cost us playoff births. He sucks and no NEP fan should ever NOT boo him.
