NFL Live reported it too, then interviewed Michael Smith who confirmed that Tedy had surgery this morning for a broken wrist. He added that Tedy is telling people he will be back for week 1.

Thats a blatant lie. Seriously you will never hear a Patriots player reveal their injuries to the media like that especially someone like Bruschi who knows the rules better than anyone.

To clarify, Smith actually said something along the lines that "according to sources close to Tedy" he is saying he will be back by week 1. That's commonplace, and a lot different than him saying it directly to the media.

when have the pats ever released an injury report anytime before the wed before the sunday game ?
BB may just bruschi up for the opener and not play him...hasnt he done such a thing in the past ? no use speculating.

I'm not speculating, I'm merely passing along news that I heard on ESPN.

Wednesday, ESPN.com's Michael Smith reported. The wrist, which had a screw inserted into the scaphoid bone, could take six weeks to heal. Bruschi has been telling people he plans on returning for the season opener.
