Glad Sweeney didn't over-think this pick like I was afraid he would.

Regarding the NHL draft in particular, you should always pick the player with the most talent...ALWAYS.

Although he's bigger and a lefthanded shot there's something in the way he shoots when on the fly that reminds me of Marion Gaborik. He gets lower to the ice for power just before the release and is able to snipe with both accuracy and power because of this.

I like the pick. That said, rumor is he'll play at least one more year in Sweden working on his game and putting on some size. That may be for the best long term but I sort of hope he'll at least come to camp and maybe make the team. I feel like he would make the team and he won't be a defensive liability early on like Seguin was/is.
