Browns wanting Mangena's head already

"I understand everyone hates Mangini, but BB would be 0-3 with that crew also. That is one sorry roster."

You are right but what good moves has me made this year that helped them..none that I seen. They traded the only player on offense they had and than traded to the Jets.
Seeing what Sanchez has already done has ticked off a lot of fans. I don't think they would be 3-0 with him but there QB's aren't doing much.

What do you expect? The guy cut half the veterans on his roster. He thinks he's some sort of personnel genius. The Browns suck.

BB wouldn't have that crew. Mangini created the roster himself. He cut most of the veterans from the '08 team, thinking he could draft well enough to replace them or that the few free agents willing to sign with 'Gina would be better. He guessed wrong.

Like I just said, Mangini thinks he's secretly a genius. In reality, he's the biggest joke of a head coach I've ever seen.

The move with Brady Quinn was exemplary of what a weird **** Mangini is. Everyone knew Quinn would be named the starter, and here he is thinking he's being smart and fooling the vikings by not naming a starter.

What he was really doing was losing his players, who want to know that their head coach has confidence in his own decision-making. And they want to know that he has faith in the quarterback he selects. And obviously Mangini doesn't, since he benched Quinn today after a grand total of two and a half games as a starter. Way to give your young QB a chance.

What a loser.

Um, which veterans? Willie Mc? A bunch of other old scrubs? BB would've sent those guys packing too. Fact is, Mangini was a Brett Favre injury away from winning the division and keeping his Mangenius label. The guy's a good coach. He learned from the best. That Cleveland team is a rebuilding project of the highest order, he deserves at least 3 years to turn it around.

Have the Browns even scored an offensive touchdown this season? I ask this as someone who is too lazy to look it up himself.

I really, really hope the Browns somehow go 0-16 this year.

A TD pass from Brady Quinn while being down 34-13 in the fourth quarter of their week one game against the Vikings.

IMO, his handling of the Quinn/Anderson contest belies your claim of his "genius."

I think the Browns fans are being a little tough on Mangini

I mean besides piss off half the locker room coming up with excessive fines and bus trips to Hartford and trading away Sanchez and crippling the confidence of two of his QBs within minutes of each other and creating an environment where free agents will take half as much NOT to play on the Browns and bringing the Farve injury report-gate controversy with him and trading away every good player he had on the roster coming in, what has he done that's so bad?

The roster stinks, and the complaints are actually a positive signal.
That team has been awful for a long time. Mangini is installing discipline. Players who thrived in the Carroll country club didnt like BB either.
Its silly to say a new HC who inherited no talent is to blame for the team stinking.
They wont be competitive for the season as a whole, but by the end of the season, they will be competing. The concepts, principles and philosophies are too sound. You usually have to blow it up before you can build it up. In 2000 we werent much better after 3 games.

I don't remember ever calling him a genius. He's a good football coach, not a genius. Both of those guys suck, so maybe he should've drafted Sanchez, but you know it's not the BB way to drop $60M on an unproven QB. I realize people here want to see him fail, but he should be given time to turn that ship around.

Mangina is the worst coach in the league .... he destroys everything he touches as a HC

Not to mention he had Sanchez in his hands and gave him away for very little. The Browns were known to be skittish about both QB back at draft time, they would have been far better off drafting Sanchez and trading both Quinn and Anderson for what they could get. Easy to say now, but I said the same to my sister, a Browns fan, on draft day.

he should go to the raiders so that 2011 pick is the #1 overall

That's what the Browns fans are saying. They won't get much for either QB now and they still need to get one next year.
Not a fan of M^& but feel for the Browns fans.

And to be clear, I'm not saying the Browns had to take Sanchez but they got so little (a #2 and two journeymen) to move way down. Then factor in the Browns weren't sold on either QB and . . . 2 + 2. Then they took two WR in round two neither of whom even sees the field. And the Center they took in Round 1 has Damien Woody disease (can't shotgun snap) so far.

Oh well, couldn't happen to a nice guy

I think our being in the top ten, through the Raiders, will take care of itself

Yeah. He's got a good canvas with which to build on (O-Line, receiving corps, decent enough D-Line) but they still need more. IMO, he has to cut out the open quarterback competition B.S. that he pulls every single offseason. He did it with the Jets when it was CLEAR that Pennington was the better QB. Same thing this year when Brady Quinn proved himself more capable a quarterback than Derek Anderson in 2008. Instill confidence in your guy and go with him from the get-go. Quinn has tools to succeed in that system and he's capable. IMO, there was no reason whatsoever to have an open competition between the two.

After their first 3 games, the 2000 NEP were 0-3, but the combined differential was only 14 points.

We were a lot better after 3 games then, than ManJudas' catastrophe are after 3 games now.

Didn't he bench Quinn today for Anderson who promptly gave the ball right back?

Anderson threw three picks. Great choice, Eric! In benching Quinn for another INT machine, you've just further diminished your original choice's confidence even more. Excellent coaching, buddy!
